Despite the most recent blow to his mental health, Geoffrey feels ready for this. He feels more than ready for this, in fact. It's been too long since the last one, and he's itching to direct again. And so before anything can happen to put it off again, he writes up a notice and tacks it up on the bulletin board.

Yorick means to just say hey to Geoffrey on his way down the hall, when he notices what Geoffrey's doing. Yorick's eyes scan the notice, skimming and picking up all the important words like Shakespeare and auditions. He sucks his lower lip into his mouth, chews in thought.

"More Shakespeare, huh?"

"Shakespeare," says Geoffrey, making sure the notice is firmly affixed to the board, "is my life. Are you interested, or just bored enough to browse the board? Seems to me you used to be reluctantly into this sort of thing."

Yorick blinks. "Dude, can you pretend like you didn't know me? It's kinda freaky..."

He shrugs a shoulder, shoving both hands in his pockets. "I dunno, I mean. It's been a long time. For me. So..."

"Yes, because aside from you we have an island of professionals," says Geoffrey wryly. "If it helps, freaky or not, you were pretty good."

Summer Roberts would never have considered herself an actress. Even now that she taught a majority of the island's dance classes, acting was not something that Summer fashioned herself doing. It was only the memories of how Anything Goes had saved her when she'd first arrived on the island that caused Summer to look at the bulletin board and investigate at the word audition. She read the notice with her head tilted to the side, as though she expected the magic word DANCER to pop out at her.

Geoffrey senses the presence, and once he's finished making sure the notice is straight he turns to look at her. "Is it the audition that's caught your attention, or--" He glances at whatever's pinned up beside it. "--are you in the market for a dog walker? Wow, we have dog walkers?"

Summer laughed, wavy brown hair falling in her face as her head shook, "no dog, just a bunny, but I walk her myself. Pancakes, that's her name." These words spilled out in one breath, a form of babble that is reserved for teenage girls of the early 21st century. She took a breath then smiled brightly, starting over.

"Did you put it up?"

"I did," says Geoffrey, straightening it one last time. Not that it won't be skewed the next time someone so much as walks by. "My fourth production since arriving on the island. Do you act, by any chance?"

Duo had been borderline manic in his activity since the beginning of September, feeling the need to be in constant motion, doing maintenance on every building he'd ever done (which had to annoy some of the inhabitants), messing around with William's printer if only to test the limits of the man's patience, and generally living out of doors. There was probably a joke in their somewhere about living with wolves, since he ran with a full blown pack of them, due to various owners of his pups disappearing and leaving the tribe behind.

But he still knew how to shower.

Finishing off his braid and letting it drop to swing just past the small of his back- it wasn't getting like visibly longer, but it was kinda getting a little longer, it seemed- still damp but at least free of leaves and twigs and crap, he pulled up short and backpedaled to look at what the councilman-director guy was posting. Duo'd seen them all, heck, loved them all. He and Polly had always ( ... )

"How many gods did you have to offend to get stuck undercover in high school English?" says Geoffrey, appalled. It seemed like unthinkable torture. "At least they taught the good stuff, apparently. Have you ever performed it?"

"Once," Duo said, quirking his head to one side. "On my desk. Well, on a lot of people's desks. Before I got sent to solitary. I mean, study hall, but you know." He flashed Geoffrey a quick uneven grin.

"It was pretty awesome."

Okay, not the sort of performance he was looking for, but experience is experience. "Well, if you're interested in auditioning," he says, "or just showing up and checking it out, the information's on the notice." Frankly, he can use as many warm bodies as he can get. There have proven to be few people on the island Geoffrey can't beg, bully or coerce into helping him out.

Jenny wasn't exactly a theatre person, but catching sight of the notice on her way into the Compound, she paused to read it anyway, mostly just out of curiosity. All of a moment later, though, she brightened. Maybe she wasn't an actress, but costuming, that was something she could do.

"Is this yours?" she asked the guy who was standing there, raising one eyebrow a little. There was no harm in at least finding out if she would be able to help.

"It is, in fact," says Geoffrey, reading it over one last time to be sure it's complete. "Both the notice, and the production. I don't suppose you're interested, are you?"

"I am, actually," Jenny confirmed, nodding, a sort of anxious smile on her face. She didn't really know why she was so nervous. It wasn't like she hadn't done things for other people here before. It would have been, however, the closest thing to a real job she'd had. "I don't act, but I, uh - I make clothes. If you're still looking for someone to make the costumes."

"Oh, Ianto's going to adore you," he says. Actually, he has no idea if Ianto is going to adore the help or not, but considering Dream needs a vast number of costumes that the clothing box is not going to provide, he has to think it'll be appreciated. "Have you done costuming before?"

Duck's where he always is, at Geoffrey's side, ready to wrap an arm around him whether he needs it or not.

"There," he says as his arm finds its familiar spot around Geoffrey's waist. He looks up at the sign. "That feels good."

"It does, doesn't it?" says Geoffrey. "I'm guessing we've both forgotten just how much work it's going to be, though. Maybe when Kate's not looking we can enlist some child labour to help out."

"You know I just tell Sam he's good with a hammer, right?" Duck asks. "He's actually more like...an infant with a hammer."

"Which still makes him better than me," says Geoffrey, though his office is, in fact, still standing, which almost makes him sort of competent. "At the very least, I can plop him on stage in wings."
