Despite the most recent blow to his mental health, Geoffrey feels ready for this. He feels more than ready for this, in fact. It's been too long since the last one, and he's itching to direct again. And so before anything can happen to put it off again, he writes up a notice and tacks it up on the bulletin board.

Kate, as always, has come prepared. She doesn't know if Geoffrey is going to want a monologue, or to read with her so she's ready with Act II Scene I for Helena and Demetrius' quarrel and with Helena's a few of her longer speeches. She's funny, dammit. She can be funny. She's going to get this stuff down before the audition. Of course, first, she might want to sign up.

And if she has to do it with a baby strapped to her back, so be it.

"So I can expect the entire family at auditions, right?" says Geoffrey when Kate appears by his side almost as soon as the notice goes up. Even though, of course, Kate and Jack are in his company, and they'll always have a place.

"Not putting my baby in fairy wings," she murmurs as she carefully prints her name. "But Jack will be up here in a while. So, okay. Helena. Any strong objections to me auditioning for Helena?"

"How do you know he doesn't want fairy wings?" insists Geoffrey. After all, Sunny sure did. "Honestly, Kate, on what planet would I object to you auditioning for Helena?"

Maladicta was in her new uniform of leggings and 3X men's work shirt, since she was totally unwilling to acknowledge the protrusion at the front of her stomach with sartorial decisions that would show it off. The result actually made her pregnancy a more disturbing thought, since the ensemble made her look like a teenaged girl. This fact was lost on her.

She was glaring at the board.

Of course she was going to audition. She had to audition. She'd been aching for a play for a year, now. But.

But.

She could have -ing killed him for putting it up now.

Sighing, pulled a pen from her shirt pocket and wrote her name in an elegant scrawl. Bastard.

Bran has a feeling that by this point Geoffrey already knows he's going to show up for these things, but writes his name down anyway, just in case. "I hoped we'd do this one," he admits. "It's one of my favourites. Possibly the favourite, I haven't thought it through quite that much."

"Next to The Tempest, it's probably the most appropriate to the island, don't you think?" says Geoffrey. "And honestly, it's just fun."

"It's brilliant," Bran agrees, "if a little cracked. And it's been ages since we last did a show."

"I know," says Geoffrey, feeling a little guilty for it, but at the same time glad he took the time to focus on his family for a little while. "But I'm sure we'll get right back in the swing of things, right?"

"It's about time," Jim said, noticing what he was putting up. Admittedly, Jim already knew he was going to try out. He'd surprisingly had a good time with it the last few times he was part of the cast. "I've been wondering when the next one was going to be put together."

"Well, I had a few life issues to work through first," says Geoffrey, "but this feels like the right time. It's good to see you're coming out again. We've lost far too many good people since the last time."

"Trust me, I wouldn't miss it," he replied. Now that Sam was older and Pam was around again, he had more time than he used to. That things had settled well enough since the last show that was made helped, too. "There's only so many things you can do around here to keep busy."

"Tell me about it," says Geoffrey, "and plenty of those are things I would have to be much more desperate to take on. I don't think, for instance, it would be in anyone's best interest for me to join the housing crew."

For the first time, Jack feels fairly confident that he already has a place in this play, but just in case, he's also started to prepare his monologues. "That's soon," he says to Geoffrey when he sees the date, but he's grinning and although he's a little nervous, he's also extremely excited.

"You're the first person to mention it's soon," says Geoffrey. "Everyone else seems to be asking what took me so long."

"Yeah, but everyone else doesn't puke in the bushes when they have to get on stage," Jack reminds Geoffrey with a grin. It's not that he's not excited, because he is, it's just that he's nervous, too. "Do you have any ideas about parts yet?"

"I have a few things in mind, but nothing set in stone," says Geoffrey. "I think we're going to be working with a whole new group this time, so I need to get a feel for what kind of talent we've got out there."
