Kon groaned softly when he woke up. It was still that time just before dawn when the entire world was quiet. Except that Kon could hear the chittering of squirrels and the calls of birds. He tried to roll over, but his feet tangled in the sheets and he kicked something off the bed as he was trying to get them out. That woke him up completely ( Read more... )

So there was a party about. That was pretty much all Bill had to say to get Roger there. He was in good shape, happy and healthy(ish) and standing upright. The day was hot, the sun was high, and Roger was shirtless. This was all he needed for the makings if a perfect beach party, and the beach was completely optional.

Once the setup was complete (Jesus Christ, he swore it took longer every time), he grinned to Bill, guitar pick between his teeth as he finished up tuning the guitar.

"The Island that never fucking sleeps, man," Roger said from around his pick before dropping the thing into his hand and positioning his mouth at the mic. This was what he needed. A motherfucking show and some motherfucking fans.

[This is your sanctioned band post. 3-way by default. Tagging order is Roger, you, Bill. Will be posting post-Concert top-level for each of them seperately.]

Music. Good music and not the Enya stuff that Tim always denied was really his. It pulled him from his surfing and brought him to the beach. He laid the surf board on the sand and sat on it, using it to prevent the sand from getting in his shorts. And then he just listened, whooping and whistling and cheering and clapping along with the crowd whenever one of the songs ended.

Both Bill and Roger loved to rock, and that was exactly what they were doing. They played songs that popped into their heads, took requests, and were generally just having a great fucking time.

"Anyone got another request?" he called, as they brought another song to an end.

Kon thought about what kind of music he knew that sounded like what the guys were playing. It was good music, but not usually the kind of thing he listened to. And then he remembered what one of his former neighbors had played.

"Hotel California," he called out.

Xander literally stumbled into the party on accident. He had been taking the scenic route to the compound thanks to the now warm weather and hd turned a corner right into the middle of party central. Seeing a few people he knew he decide to stick around for while.

Oh hey, was that breakfast on the beach? Sweeet.

"You might want to actually eat some of it instead of just staring," Juno suggested, noticing the guy looking excited in the general direction of the array of food. "We're like a bunch of bears who've been hibernating all winter, holed up in caves and burning body fat and suddenly it's sunny and there's like, trout and honey and stuff."

While the bear analogy earned the girl an odd look, Xander couldn't help laughing as he moved closer to the food. "I think I'm just in awe. What do I start with, the trout or the honey?"

"Well," Juno said seriously, "I suppose that depends on whether or not you are a bear of little brain."

Once the set was over, Roger made his way over to the food. Naturally, as there were bread products and anything that even looked like a sandwich was likely to be consumed by the wayward rockstar. So, with his guitar pushed to his back, the strap the only thing adorning his chest, he began to eat. Fuck, playing made him hungry.

It was too early for alcohol, too, so Roger just grabbed a little sandwich-thing and took in the scene. Nothing made him feel more radiant and fucking awesome than that post-set feeling.

"Hi," said Juno.

Her eyes flicked to the guitar slung over his shoulder, and then she said matter-of-factly, "You're not bad."

She actually made this sound like very high praise.

Roger turned around to view the source of the sound, and was... a little surprised to see a teenage girl.

"Uhh, thanks," Roger said, flashing a quick smile under a thin sheen of sweat.

"Nice strings, too," Juno added. "Though I prefer Gibson to Fender."

When she wakes the first thing she notices is that it's warm again and that brings a smile to her mouth before she even opens her eyes. It's not long before she's running down the beach, trying to take it easy after being cooped up for so long, but after a short time she just stretches out her legs and goes.

She slows to a stop only when she sees people gathered on the beach. Planting her feet she puts her hands on her hips, breathing hard, a little winded.

It's a beach party, which in Karolina's So Cal estimation, is the very best kind.

Bart jogged over when he spotted Karo running, stopping to grab a couple of drinks on the way. She was winded, which said she'd probably need it, and what were friends for.

"This, I could get used to," he commented, holding the first cup out to her. "Guess I'm not the only one enjoying the return of proper weather."

"You're not kidding. I'm so happy it's warm again. Hey thanks," she says gratefully, taking the cup and drinking down a few great gulps right away. "Ugh, it's been awhile," she says after she lowers the cup from her mouth. "I need to get back into my routine."

"Believe me, I know. Cold weather makes my knee hurt something fierce," Bart said, smiling. "If you want company, I'm sure we could work something out. Maybe trade pointers?"

It wasn't that she wasn't good. It was that his birthright was speed, and that meant he could teach her to be better, even without the Speed Force.

Joey wasn't sure how she felt about the weather change. Winter was supposed to be cold and Joey was holding onto things that made sense. The few that there were on this island anyway. She was even less sure how she felt about beach parties.

But this was new year, new Joey Potter after all. So clad in one of her hated sundresses she wandered over, curious to see who was responsible for the festivities.
