The last time this had happened, he'd gone so far as to roast some meat for everyone. This time, he's still weary and tired of wondering if today is going to be the day Glitch turned up in his body again or worrying that whoever was in Coraline's body was going to find herself or himself in some kind of trouble. So he'd still put out as much as he ( Read more... )

The truth was, the Doctor and Allison Cameron were both ridiculously resourceful people, both having picked it up in their respective lines of work, and the Doctor had managed to find a bottle of fifteen year-old Glenfiddich 2091 in the TARDIS kitchen. There was only a quarter of it left, but he was completely and utterly fine with that.

It was unfortunate that he'd forgotten that Cameron didn't have the same tolerance level he did, being female and having a slightly lower metabolism. Slipping some into some coffee and spotting barbecue (he was so down with barbecue, thank god she wasn't a vegetarian), he charmed his way into some dinner, and drank some of the coffee, way too fast.

This was probably bad.

Coraline's, or rather the body she was inhabiting, attention wandered as she spotted the rather attractive young woman. She felt the overwhelming urge to be nice and charming with the woman. Approaching her Coraline smiled at her.

"Hello, don't believe we've met before have we? I think I'd remember that face," Coraline said, sipping at the coffee and bouncing in her patriotic wellingtons.

"Uh, hi," the Doctor said, looking very, very skeptically at the dorky guy in the glasses. Cameron was regularly hit on, and the inherent wariness was not that foreign to the Doctor. "Are you hitting on me?"

Maybe a little more blunt than Cameron, but the drink did that.

"I don't know. What does 'hitting on you' mean exactly?" Coraline asked curiously. The look that the pretty lady was giving her made her want to run away and cower behind someone tall and pointy. "I just don't think I've met you before, you're very pretty and I have an odd compulsion to talk to you."

It was Lucy's hope to find Coraline at the Homestead. She'd not been able to find her anywhere else, and after talking to Mohinder in Coraline's body she'd become more and more worried. She stood near the edge of the gathering, Shadow close at her heels. Anyone could be Cora, and how would she know?

"Hello Lucy," Coraline said towering over her best friend. She'd never realised Lucy was so small before. Coraline grinned at her best friend and rocked back and forth in the patriotic wellington boots.

"Hullo," Lucy looked up at the man, unsure of who he was and how he knew her name. Only, with the wellies and the people swapping about in bodies she thought it fair enough to guess, "Coraline?"

Coraline wanted to weep with pride at Lucy being able to guess who she was. Even if Lucy was a Queen to a traiterous country like Narnia, keeping all the talking animals and treasures and adventures to themselves. They probably had whole countries of oil beneath them. Coraline was halfway through a plan to invade Narnia when she realised that Lucy was still there.

"Sorry, I get distracted easily." Coraline said apologising to her friend. She was half thinking about Aslan. Aslan was totally a kitty terroist in disguise. She couldn't tell Lucy that otherwise she might be a little upset. "Oh Luce it's terrible, I keep having bad thoughts and I have boy bits. And no one will let me play with guns or invade other countries and there's a rogue Other Coraline walking around in MY BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT BODY."

Glitch had done the reasonable thing and tried to find whoever belonged in his current body by hanging around where he'd woken up. Naturally, it hadn't worked out for the reasons he'd been there, but he had managed to find plenty of cigarettes in the hut (it wasn't breaking and entering if his body owned the place). He wasn't chainsmoking or anything, he was just...smoking. A lot. And drinking coffee. Lots and lots of coffee, with the occasional piece of fruit.

He let out a reasonably content noise and bit into an apple. Sure, it had a tint of cigarettes and coffee to it, but really, it wasn't bad.

Cain was still more than uneasy around Glitch in the new body, but he wanted to make sure Glitch was okay deep inside of it and so he was hovering. Only slightly. Just a little. "You good?" he asked warily, voice quiet and pitched to be private.

Inquiries were made and so it was with some eyerolling and internal grumbling that Sarah Connor set out to find her own body. Maybe while she was at it, she could...talk them into giving it back or something. Did they have to get in a circle and sing or did it just go about flipping them back like a switch?

It was surreal to see herself anywhere else but in a mirror. She looked like crap.

"I'd wondered who had my body," she said brightly (and hated it). "How are you holding up?"

After talking to Lucy, Mohinder knew a little more about Coraline's family and friends. He thought, well, if he was Coraline's family he would want to know where her body was and that it was okay. And since he'd promised himself he wouldn't hurt her in any way, he decided to stop by the Cain homestead to see if Mr. Cain was there ( ... )

Cain tersed his jaw, seeing Coraline's body and heading over to deal with whoever it was, hoping that a couple shots of a sweet alcohol in his coffee would help with the whole irritation over her not being her. "You're talking to him," he said flatly. "What do you want?"

Mohinder cringed back from the irritation in the man's voice. The man who Adam had said did 'dad duty' for Coraline. He didn't like how he felt at hearing that directed at him, and it made his eyes widen and his lip tremble a little.

"I...just wanted to introduce myself and show you that Coraline's body was okay. I thought you might be worried and Adam told me who you were." He forced himself to slow down and breathe. "I'm sorry if I shouldn't have come."

"Thanks," he said, the word coming out hesitant and slow. "For showing me you're okay. I would've come looking anyhow." But he still didn't like to look at her, knowing that Coraline was stuck somewhere else and knowing what possession of bodies did to a person. "There's fruit. Have some before you go, make sure not to make yourself sick."
