Ever since the issue of Lara opting not to escape the island through some sort of portal, Bond had made himself fairly scarce and inaccessible when it came to islanders he did not know very well, which in his case meant virtually everyone on the island outside of Lara and Lyra ( Read more... )

A motorcycle. And this one wasn't attached to a potentially hostile teenager.

It wasn't that the human in apparent possession of the bike failed to appear potentially hostile. In fact, he looked like he could definitely pose a threat under certain circumstances. But the T-1000 wasn't currently partial to teenagers in general, making this human automatically preferable to one.

For a long moment, the T-1000 simply stood and watched from afar, assessing the situation and trying to find an optimal strategy for interaction. He didn't want to recycle his line, especially since it hadn't yielded positive results the last time he'd put it to use, and threats in general would probably be perceived negatively.

It left him very little to work with.

"Hi," he greeted as he approached the man. "What are the chances of you letting me ride your bike?"

Bond arched an eyebrow, considering the younger man. He was about 1.82 metres with blue eyes and brown hair. And he was fairly average-looking if well-muscled. The request surprised him and he made an effort to pause as if to actually consider it before frowning thoughtfully. "Might I ask why you wish to ride it?"

"Not for any specific purpose," the T-1000 replied, scanning the man with his gaze, then turning to offer the motorcycle a similar treatment. It looked fairly new, and he wondered how the human had acquired it. Maybe he'd arrived on the island riding the motorcycle, which would've made his arrival considerably smoother than the T-1000's had been. "I miss technology, and it's scarce here," he admitted bluntly, meeting the man's gaze. "And I just like bikes."

"I see," and James did, but he found it difficult to even consider letting anyone else use his bike the same way he would have found it impossible and painful to let another use one of his guns. "I'm afraid I can't really help you."

Tall, handsome, and brooding. Well, that definitely was a signal. Yes, Sally Harper, you may approach, you may tilt your head coyly, and you may possibly smile depending on his status. "Nice ride," she said, coyly and very confident and cool. "Yours?"

He glanced up at the woman, giving her a brief and discreet inspection before offering her a smile. "Thank you and yes."

Sally just gave the bike a good circle and appraisal before she did the same of the man. "That definitely looks like a powerful engine," she said, tapping her finger against her cheek. "You can hear it a kilometre off. Not that that's a bad thing, of course."

"Quite," he agreed, rising to his feet and setting one hand down on the seat of his motorcycle. "This is a Triumph Thruxton."

While there was a defining lack of automobiles on the island, the ones that did exhist were rare and intriguing all the same. Gregor on his walks had come across some, though few, and while he rarely stopped to study thm and was nearly always quickly on his way, he did pause when he came across the man and his motored bicycle and watched with interest.

"It is very nice." He offered as he got closer. "It looks fast."

When it came to modes of transportation, Bond had a greater fondness for cars, but he appreciated having a Triumph Thruxton at his disposal. "Thank you. It certainly is."

Not the most talkative of men, it seemed. But it was no matter, as a salsman, a travelling salesman at that, Gregor was accostumed to those were not only standoffish, but those who were downright rude in every sense of the word. Despite the lack of welcome or interest on behalf of the pther party, he did not take it to heart.

"Much more advanced than what I know, I fear." He said conversationally, walking leisurely as though not afraid to stop and speak if invited to, but not about to linger. "As much is, I've noticed."

"The island certainly seems to pull people in from all over," Bond agreed, not inclined to solicit conversation from others though he had no real objection to the occasional idle chat. "Where is it that you're from?"
