Evey hated days like today. They'd start out normal and fine, with a sunny day and nothing much going on, and then they'd unexpectedly crash into fiery bits.
Usually the crashing into bits part involved some wild animal feasting on her roses and Rollo shaking salty fishy muddy water all over her and then the clothesbox giving her only dirty

On his way home from the beach, Peter had spotted the familiar face burst from the underbrush and take cover, as if something or someone was following her. While he wasn't officially on the police department here, he'd rescued her before and certainly wasn't above doing it again, even if it was from something with very sharp teeth.
"Evey?" he asked again, stepping carefully closer. "What is it?" Hopefully she wouldn't smack him for being a bastard, although he certainly deserved it.

She stood up cautiously, looking around carefully.

"Evie? Are you alright?" Sola babbled meaningless sounds, and Padme ignored them, the concern much more important then her daughter's quest to pull on her hair.

She managed a semblance of a smile for Padme and Sola, "Um, yes, I-I think so, thank you."
That was another concern. What if the Fingermen approached Padme, thinking she was Evey?

"Would you come with me? Into the Compound?" She thought for a moment. "We could get some food?"

She got up and surreptitiously looked around. No black uniforms anywhere, just green.

"Uh, whoever you were runnin' from?" he said. "Pretty sure you lost 'em."

She somewhat doubted it, though. She hadn't lost them permanently, if they really were who she thought they were.

"Didn't think this place had bad guys," he mused out loud. "Unless you're runnin' from Jurassic Park...?"

"Sometimes things follow you here," she replied. "Even if you rather wish they wouldn't."
