It was way too early. If the powers that be had wanted Maggie to wake up before noon voluntarily, they wouldn’t have granted her a legendary knack for programming on top of an already killer body. She had better things to do at night than sleep as long as she could remember.
But she was trying this new thing, waking during daylight hours, at Matt’s not-so-delicate suggestion. Sure it was overrated, especially with the Shack being empty no matter what time of day, but she’d stick with it a little while longer and try to get used to it for his sake. This was technically Maggie’s second attempt at a day time schedule since entering Shack life, but it was much easier to wake up and adjust back when the place was packed full of personalities and, well, structure ( ... )

Maggie might have made a mess but thankfully didn’t burn herself. It took her a moment, but she shook herself out of the initial surprise in time to utter a response. “N-no, no I’m fine. Hi! It’s just, wow, where have you been? I thought you left too.” Like the others. But they couldn’t be... “Did you bring anyone else back with you?”
Maggie wished she hadn’t let that last question slip out. It was stupid to ask, and she should’ve be happy enough to see even one of the missing mechs return. She was! She just got caught up in the moment over the possibility of there being more.
