We've been back a couple of days, so here's the latest news: the house is in place on the property! This was no small feat to be accomplished by the House Mover, considering that the winds were a steady 2o m.p.h, gusting to 5o-55 m.p.h. on Wednesday.! Talked with the house mover today, he was driving through Limpia Crossing, to ascertain the difficulty of the move. After he checked out the completed pad, and the entrance to the main road, he gave it a thumbs up, and we set up a date for The Move!  It will be April 1st, also known as April Fool's Day!  lololol. Got the estimate from the dirt guy, and while a lot of money, it was still within the expected priced range. He was to get started on it and call us when done.

A&E called saying that the cracks in the kitchen ceiling were the only item left to finish on the house and he had been able to remove the fireplace ( Read more... )

Okay, we got to Odessa in good order, got to A&E and signed all the papers, left a good chunk of money with them, and headed for Fort Davis. Had a nice drive to Fort Davis, made an appointment with the dirt guy, and had a good lunch @ Nel's.

Got to Seguin in plenty of time today for our appointment with Wayne, the mobile home guy. Toured through Seguin for a few minutes, neat little town, met up with Wayne about 9.4oAM, took the tour through the home. He was right! It is the home worth waiting for. We'll be leaving in the AM to travel to Seguin, to check out the "manufactured" home. Weather  should be good going over there, but the forecast is for it to get bad tomorrow night and on into Tuesday.
