Congratulations on your first post!

I definitely get where you're coming from on Emma. I adore Knightly. And I didn't hate Emma, I just ended up liking Lizzy better. But Emma has a good heart and she wants to be a good person. Also, I agree with you about Billie as Fannie. The best thing I can say about that production was at least they tried to make Fanny fun. I never really like Fanny as a heroine - she's just good, in a boring sort of way. Mary Crawford was much more fun as a character (not an especially good person though). But that was not the best Northanger Abby I've ever seen. What about Pride and Prejudice - do you like the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle version or the Kira Knightley version?

And that Booth/Brennan moment is one of my favorites too. When he lifts her off that hook and her arms go around his neck. Yeah, I just about melted in to a pile of goo. Also, that scene in season 2 where Booth is running down that hill to rescue Bones from the Gravedigger.

Big thank you and terribly terribly big Sorry that I'm so incredibly late, it's just I comment too much and keep putting off my journal and also am still a bit out of sorts because this July was awful and I'm still coming to terms with all that happened and on top of that I'm just a big lazibones with no free will and not always in a mood *blushes* No to the topic at hand=)

I just ended up liking Lizzy better.
well, as a character Lizzy may be a better one(though she has her own issues) but frankly I wasn't satisfied with her feelings, it really seems that if Darcy weren't that rich and hadn't a house as beautiful she wouldn't have reconsidered her feelings *g* it's just...her love really did not seem that big, she really started to love him rationally, not by heart, I was a bit disappointed by that while reading... I've seen the film with Keira Knightley first and there she seemed kinda more in love and I expected that from the book and it didn't meet my expectations...

I know what you mean about Lizzy - that is a weird line in the book. I always took her dating her feelings for him to seeing Pemberly as a joke. Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part though. =) I did fall in love with the Jennifer Ehle/Colin Firth movie. I read the book for the first time a couple of months before it broadcast on A&E, and it seemed like such a gift to have the book brought to life for me. I'm laughing about that version boring you. When I saw the Kira Knightley version, I kept thinking everything was whizzing by much too quickly. =) I guess it's just what you're used to. And sorry I goofed up Northanger Abby and Mansfield Park. That's what I get for reading all of Jane Austen's books in quick succession one summer - I can't keep the names and characters straight for the ones I never reread.

Of course ask questions if you want! Internet here is pretty sketchy though, so it may take a while to respond.

Oh, good to know I'm not the only one who has weird feelings about it :D

I'm laughing about that version boring you.
hehe, well, what can I say, not a big fan of Colin Firth, me :P He's just a bit expressionless and that's a thing a don't like, I fall in love with crazy mimics like DT :D also I kinda like to watch in one go and five ours of this version of P&P is tiring :DD and I don't like the yellow-ish of all the film, green and blue of Keira's is much better for my eyes (I LOVE GREEN AND BLUE amd especially their mixes)

When I saw the Kira Knightley version, I kept thinking everything was whizzing by much too quickly.
hehe, since I never heard about Austen and watched it in the cinema it appeared a bit long-ish at the time *gg* but then I still loved it, I bought the DVD as soon as it appeared and it was my first licensed DVD ever *ggg*

I guess it's just what you're used to. Yeah, first impressions and all that ;D the only other version ever that I liked ( ... )

I'm terribly-terribly sorry that I'm this late, I'm not very good on leading my own journal as you can see, but I'm trying, honestly :)

Of course I don't mind, it's kinda my name after all, just a bit translated ;D

I have only see the 1998 version of "Mansfield Park", which I love and own.
Yup, that was a good one, the best MP of all three adaptations)

BBC's 2008 "Emma".
Oh, I haven't heard about this one, I've seen BBC's 1996 one with Kate Beckinsale, I've just checked and found 2009 Emma with Jonny Lee Miller as Mr Knightley (no, please,no, I was so hoping that DT would play him someday *sigh*) is that one what you've seen? (I haven't found in on mininova, it must yet to air, i think...) Oh, maybe you've seen BBC 2008 "Sense and Sensibility" with David Morrissay?

Lastly, I've seen Keira Knightley's P&P, which I didn't love so much, weirdly.
It was the first Jane Austen's I've ever seen so I'm kinda fond of it <33

10.5, who in my personal canon is a mix of both 9 and 10well, I'm hoping that he's more Tennish, because I love ( ... )

hee, yay, I've just noticed that you ship David/Billie, I ship them hard, I even almost wrote a fic a few times XD

But yeah that's the one I was referring too. I loved it!
I've seen it just once (as opposed to the other version I know by heart) but I really liked it,too, especially how the scene of the confession was edited. "I held you in my arms when you were three weeks old" squeee! that was the cutest thing ever(and this line wasn't in the book) (Yeah, I have a BIG thing for age difference *grins*)

but as having 9's darker side, the side that is partly associated with regenerating/"being born" during battle. Oh, I see, you know, I think that all the Time Lord said was rubbish just to push Rose to his other self, I laugh in the face of calling destroyng all Daleks "genocide", Rose killed all the Daleks, too and she wasn't chided by the Doctor for that. Ten2 is not broken genocidal maniac that needs fixing, he just needs to come to terms with his humanity and he needs Rose like any version of the Doctor would, it's just he needs ( ... )

Bit of a sidetrack from the Austen thread, have you heard of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? Pretty much the same story except Lizzy kicks undead ass, and Lady Catherine has ninjas. Don't run away yet! It's better than it sounds! There's even a sequel coming out: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.

Also: read any of the Night Watch series? Although I guess you should be asking the questions ;)

really sorry for being this late, I keep forgetting my own journal in favour of commenting in others' *blushes*

have you heard of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?
No, sounds a bit ridiculous XD is it any good? (I don't think it was ever translated and 'm not sure it ever will be...)
I don't mind questions=)
read any of the Night Watch series?
you mean by Lukyanenko? Of course I did, I had to know why his books were filmed and none of my favorite writers' were (and I also watched the film in the cinema and didn't understand what the hell was that so I thought that the book might help but it didn't, because there's really a little connection between the text and the adaptation *gg*). I've read first three books five years ago and remember vaguely liking it but not really much (especially I never forgave him the angst of Day Watch and killing so many characters I liked), I didn't read the Last Watch when it first appeared, I just lost interest. You like it?

Are you still up for my questions this late?

Of course I'm still up for it. I know what you mean when you say you pay more attention to other people's journals than your own. That "Friends Page" button is dangerous.

P&P&Z was completely ridiculous, but a good example of being able to laugh at English Lit canon without disrespecting it. And I enjoyed the philosophy in The Night Watch series; a good cure for the *ahem* sugary-sweetness of the Twilight series.

Oh, yes, the amount of comments I made looks scary comparing to the amount of ones I received XDDD

I wish I could wipe Twilight from my memory xD well, I must say I kinda liked it when I read first three books but not that much (it's just reminded me of the series of books I love really much of one Russian(well, tecnically not Russian as she's from Belarus but she writes in Russian so...) writer about a witch and a vampire, best friends and then more(but her vampires are not like everyone knows at all, too much to explain), but those are MUCH better and have got really great humour in it and are not sugary at all and were written a few years earlier than any Twilight books even appeared) and when all Twilight-histeria started here my good attitude evaporated completely, I cringe when I see it anywhere *gg* WE SHOULD BURN ALL TWILIGHT BOOKS TO SAVE FUTURE GENERATIONS :D

And I enjoyed the philosophy in The Night Watch series ( ... )

Hooray for your first post!

I'm not much of a Jane Austen fan, to be honest. I tried to read a couple of them a few years back, at a friend's recommendation but it felt rather like I was fighting a losing battle to get to the end of the book. I do have the Keira Knightley version of P&P, but I still haven't got round to watching it. Is it any good?

I completely agree with you that Rose wouldn't be able to choose between her Doctors. She was equally in love with all of them. I, like you, prefer her with Ten1 the best for the same reasons you said. ♥

Thanks :D and huge sorry for being this late, as you can see I'm not the best journal-keeper, I comment on other's way too much and forget about my one *headdesk*

it felt rather like I was fighting a losing battle to get to the end of the book.
then it's probably not your thing=)I, for example, never really liked Jane Eyre and all that gothic-byron-y stuff:D

I do have the Keira Knightley version of P&P, but I still haven't got round to watching it. Is it any good?
it is, I love it to bits, actually, I know I'm partial because it's the first thing connected with JA I've even seen but it's still one of my favorite adaptations, and it's very beautifully filmed=)

I have nothing else to do, so go ahead!
I'm rubbish when it comes to updating my blog - I spend more time readng other people's blogs than doing anything on my own. I'm just not interesting enough to write something on a daily (or nearly daily) basis!
*stares at the pretty pictures* Ah, excellent! I will get round to watching P&P as soon as I can :D

1. How long have you been watching DW and when did you start shipping D/R?
2. Does your username make any sense? :D
3. What would you like to do after you finish your studies?
4. What is your favorite book/author?
5. Do you have anti-ships in DW-fandom that you absolutely cannot stand?

Congrats on your first post! :)

I have yet to read Emma, but I'm almost done reading all of Jane Austen's novels. I'm finishing up Mansfield Park at the moment. It's been fun reading all of Jane Austen's novels during the summer.

I totally agree with you about Rose not being able to choose. She loves all 3 Doctors for different reasons. But like you, I adored her relationship with Ten 1 the most.

Oops, I must have missed it, thanks for answers=))

I was extremely obsessed with Phantom of the Opera.
that's what I thought, and about viola,too, I guessed right,squee :D

Plus I think there's something attractive about a man who's "damaged."
or an alien ;D
I'm amazed it took them this long to actually get it on with each other.
Nah, it's just the insistence of Huddy-shippers and Lisa Edelstein, we'd totally get Hameron if not for them *grumbles*

*sigh* Yeah, I want to visit so many places, finding the oppurtunity is the trickiest part...

I've been watching DW since 2005.
Oh, that's a long time, I wonder why I almost haven't seen you around here, you don't read much fanfic?
