Here's that "1001 Movies You Need To See Before You Die" list. I really wish they wouldn't address it in those terms. I seriously doubt that anyone's final words on their deathbed will be "Damn it! I forgot to watch Barry Lyndon!" I've seen it and if given a choice I'd probably watch Blazing Saddles for the umpteenth time instead.

I was in Big!Lots yesterday buying a power strip when I saw that they now have their very own credit card. I thought that was funny for several reasons. Is there anything at Big!Lots you'd really want to charge or even need to? Do you want to pay 22% interest on a bucketful of gummi worms? I walked past a Salvation Army bell ringer today. She was wearing an orange University of Texas sweatshirt with a bell in one hand and smoking a cigarette with the other. She didn't say "Hello" or "Merry Christmas" just asked me for money. I told her maybe later as the whole scene didn't exactly fill me with holiday cheer.
