OK, so I didn't see this coming!

The BBC Weather site was redesigned recently, so it's possible that my sorry little eyeballs simply didn't notice the symbol for 'snow', which isn't much differnt from the one for rain. Anyway, I had no idea until I opened my curtains upon getting out of bed this morning.

Love the picture,Terie. And suddenly I understand the placement of your place within its neighborhood much better than from other pictures (the snow outlines things so nicely! Is that forsythia blooming yellow in your garden? Whatever that other shrub is, the snow on the leaves looked like it's covered with white flowers.

The yellow you see is a euonymus, not sure which variety. Forsythia is long out of bloom here...it's early spring. I love forsythia, but don't have one. The shrub with the snow-that-looks-like-flowers is a hebe, one with fairly small leaves in the range of hebe leaf sizes.

At some point, I'll try to go out to the end of the little street and take a picture looking back at the cul-de-sac of 16 houses so you can get an even better idea of how my neighbourhood is situated. My front faces north-east-ish.
