Sounds like it was the right decision getting off that one med. Glad you're still able to get to sleep. (If you have problems sleeping in the future, ask your doctor about a nutritional supplement called melatonin. I SWEAR by it. Drew's psychiatrist told us to give it to him because his meds make him wired and it helps him sleep. I HATE sleeping pills or any drugs that make you even slightly drowsy, even cold medicine. But I take melatonin regularly. It doesn't drug you, but it helps your brain quiet down so you can shut it off and go to sleep. I always wake up on time and very refreshed when I take it. But ask your doctor first in case it's a problem in combo with meds you're taking

I think part of being a responsible person is taking into consideration self-criticism. But the key is to be appropriately self-critical. We should hold ourselves accountable, but neither do we need to be constantly heaping out the negative self-talk. So it might help you to think that you're working toward a realistic balance somewhere. As was pointed out, it might feel a bit fake or put on at the start, but working on the positive self-talk is a good thing.
