[Jilly wasn't much of a drinker, but tonight she didn't feel like staying at home with her empty rooms. Painting would have been relaxing...but even that didn't seem right, tonight. She wanted a chance to be around people... to feel the energy that came from hearing new stories and seeing new faces.

Good Spirits wasn't quite the bars back home. She ( Read more... )

[Vash, like many nights, is at Good Spirits. He's feeling pretty good - what with not being a donut anymore and all.] Hey barkeep! Fill'er up!

[the voice is familiar, though it doesn't really register why right away.

What does register is that he matches the description the little girl had given him. Red coat. Spikey hair. He was the guy from her building. The guy with the little sister]

Having a good night?

[a laugh] That's good to hear. It's nice to see some people haven't had too bad of a week.

[Well, she might not hear any music at first, but sometime after she arrives, Thirteen walks into the bar and takes his usual seat. Notable about him is a guitar strung over his back. After he places his order, he wordlessly swings it around and begins playing this famous song.]

[her foot stills at that, as she turns to listen to the song. It's beautiful... and more than a little sad... and as the song continues, she finds her hands itching for her pencil to try and capture the way his fingers dance across the strings]

[Eventually, he'll finish the song, and reach for the drink on the bar. Yeah, that was relaxing. There's a light smile from him as he begins playing again, though a different song, still in a similar style.

...He hasn't yet noticed he's being watched yet.]

[she can't help herself. It's not exactly bar-room behavior, but she fishes her journal out from her coat and quickly begins to sketch the traces of the image in front of her. They're broad, sweeping sketches... more ghosts of the scene than a detailed portrayal...but it'll be enough to be a reference later, if she finds a reason to use it.

Gaze flickering between the page and the player, her smile comes back - both for the joy of the art and the joy of the music.]

[What's that, the bar? There's a bartender here, ready to give you his undivided attention! ...Assuming it's not crowded tonight.]

It's nice to see a customer in here who's in a good mood!

[that gets a quick smile] Is it that uncommon?

Not too much! Just sometimes we get some unhappy guys in here, drinking away their sorrows... you know. It's refreshing to get a pretty girl who doesn't mind smiling.

[she blinks a bit at the compliment, before shrugging it off with a shake of her head. It was a bartender's job, after all. Not that hunting for tips made any sense, here] I've always found that sorrows are pretty good at swimming.

I'd rather drink with good company, any day.

[reaching across the bar to offer a hand] I'm Jilly.
