Summary: Yamashita Tomohisa, aka Yamapi, is a well-known bachelor of Tokyo nights, but what makes him so well known? Well it's just the simple fact that no one ever managed to get a hold of this handsome and rich young man. The few ones that dared to say they managed to get into Yamashita`s bed, are just liars or never had a chance to make it happen a second time. The only thing he really wants is to find his long missed one in a million.

[Chapter 07] [Chapter 08]

No matter how sweet those memories were the cruel reality hit him hard again the following day, as he had been stuck with monitoring and updating the sales display areas for the entire morning. Not much happened besides the routine, only a few customers felt like they had to talk to him, instead to any of the other sales assistants. Everything seemed to have gone mostly smooth and quick until he noticed a man enter the store. A certain person who he wished would get banned already.

Tegoshi saw Yamapi walk right into the store once more today and instead of waiting for the older man to find him, Tegoshi met him halfway in front of the new golf collections. The younger man lifted his face and snapped right at the man in his suit, “What do you want today?” Tegoshi looked at him angrily and his question was returned with a simple nod and smile from the older man.

“I said,” Tegoshi started again, “What the hell do you want?”

Tegoshi still only received a smile from the older man in reply. Yamapi reached out and offered the younger man a can of iced coffee he had let out of the vending machine outside.

“I don’t want your coffee, thanks.” Tegoshi rolled his eyes and shook his head, “There are no new arrivals whatsoever since last night!”

Yamapi’s happy smile made him even more furious and he wished he could just yell his heart out right now but he knew his boss wouldn’t appreciate if he’d scream at their best customer, in front of a bunch of other potential buyers. Tegoshi understood but it didn’t help a bit.

“I.. I guess you really don’t want to see me,“ Yamapi let out a deep sigh and took an even deeper breath, “ but I don’t think I can accept that so easily. You were my best friend and we shared more time together than with anyone else since kindergarten. How can you throw all of this just away?”

“What? …Something must be wrong with you Yamapi, seriously…you don’t get it at all..”

Tegoshi snapped at Yamapi angrily and slightly confused at the sudden topic, although it shouldn’t surprise him because he knew what Yamapi was going on about all the time and it didn’t seem to ever end. “Seriously, why do you keep coming back? You bought almost the entire shop a few hours ago, what else is there you could possibly want besides the obvious, which you won’t get?”

“There is no need to hide it, you know I also want my best friend back, I want to talk to you and go to fun places like we used to. I can’t enjoy my time with anyone else and I am missing you too much to just accept that you don’t want to see me anymore, when now we actually have the chance to.”

Yamapi casually picked up a couple of blue and black golf balls from the counter next to them and held them up high, “by the way I’ll be getting these!”

The younger man’s eyes widened in disbelief and gooooooooood how he wished he could just disappear right now and leave all this shit behind.

“I know I am repeating myself but you don’t get it, do you!?” Tegoshi shook his head and took the golf balls from Yamapi, carrying them toward the cashier as quickly as he could. He had not the slightest interest in talking to Yamapi and for sure he did not want to talk about those things, far less in public.

A moment later Yamapi hovered over a glass counter in front of Tegoshi who already charged his credit card as usual. “I don’t know what made you hate me-… but,-why can’t I try to show you that I can be the friend I used to be to you?”

Both lifted their heads the same time and their eyes locked, “Don’t you miss our time at all?” Yamapi asked with a sad smile, which Tegoshi returned only with a disgusted grimace.

“Thank you for shopping with us today, “ Tegoshi handed Yamapi a small black bag with his new purchased items and motioned for him to leave already, “…we hope to… see you again.” He added displeased and led Yamapi toward the entrance / exit.

Yamapi opened his mouth to speak again but was cut off short by the younger, “You came, and you bought; now you leave. Do you get the concept? - I’m glad you DO; thanks.”

With Tegoshi’s final words he was pushed out of the door and had to admit his defeat once again. The older man sighed as he watched Tegoshi through the window, watched him talk to the next customer but he guessed in a more friendly way. It broke his heart all over again to see Tegoshi ignore him like that.

---

Tonight after work Tegoshi walked home down the same streets towards Starbucks to pick up his usual late night coffee. As tired as he was he decided to stay a little longer at the coffee shop and drink his hot cup of coffee inside, resting on one of those very comfortable sofa-like seats. The young sports apparel shop assistant quickly fell asleep with his head pressed against the soft back of the chair.

[Flash back - Dream]
Tegoshi remembered how during their High School days, the two boys often shared a small table inside a crowded coffee shop. The older boy sat over a bunch of opened school books, and occasionally sipped at his half empty fruit juice. Sometimes he looked up from his books to change the songs on his music player or reply incoming text messages on his cell phone.

Tegoshi would usually just sit there and skip through a comic magazine he picked up randomly at the conbini on his way to meet Yamapi after school. He would gaze down at his friend more often than just occasionally and countless times he’d just flip open a random page to show the older boy, saying how cool it looked without knowing what the story was about. Tegoshi couldn’t concentrate on actually reading it and he wasn’t really interested in comics in the first place.

Yamapi would always patiently look at the pages shown and smile. He would nod interestedly every time and happily look up from his books no matter how busy he was finishing his homework. With each time their eyes would meet and Tegoshi felt that familiar warm buzzing feeling in his stomach that made his world spin. Other than his friend, Tegoshi never came along to study but to simply waste time in the other’s company. He didn’t care much about the magazine or the coffee that sat in front of him, barely touched.

The young boy would lean down countless times to see what Yamapi was writing and see if he could help, which he offered many times. His hazel colored hair fell loosely in his eyes as he watched Yamapi finish his homework in silence.

[/end Flash back]

Tegoshi flinched as he felt the annoyingly and never stopping buzzing in his pocket. Opening his eyes slowly he yawned and pulled out his cell phone.

“Oh hey, Ji…” he answered immediately, recognizing the ringtone and the other’s soft voice.

“Did I wake you?” Jiyong asked worried, “You sound so sleepy…”

“Maybe…” Tegoshi yawned again, “Yeah I think I was kind of sleeping. “ Tegoshi wondered where he was and soon realized he was almost the last person left inside Starbucks. He slowly remembered how and why he slept there….

“Sorry, guess then you don’t want to go out tonight.” Jiyong’s voice started to fade in Tegoshi’s ears and it felt as if he heard someone else talking to him, another very familiar voice.

“Tonight?” Tegoshi asked slightly irritated and looked around the room again. “What time….” he glanced down at his watch, it was barely 10:30 but he wasn’t feeling like he’d survive anything other than more sleep. “Rather not.”

“Sure, then I talk to you soon.”

“I’m Sorry,..” Tegoshi started and let out a deep sigh when he realized that Jiyong already hung up on him. It didn’t feel very good that he just ended their conversation like this when he was the one calling. Tegoshi had to admit though, Jiyong wasn’t really the one to blame; he had ignored his calls earlier this week and probably sounded rude again on the phone. It wasn’t his intention though.

Tegoshi sighed and braced himself up, “Damnit, how I hate dreams…maybe I am going mad for real already too…” the young man cursed and walked down the street to fetch a taxi.

---

The next morning Tegoshi made his way down the road towards the shop, listening to the same old songs that helped him to get through the day. Knowing those streets already by heart he didn’t need to pay attention to the road, and so he kept walking in this day dream kind of state. Soon he had to stop at a traffic light near a big intersection, when he noticed some guys fixing a new advisement poster next to their shop. Normally he wouldn’t pay much attention to that, but today for some reason they caught his interest and so stood there waiting for the guys to finish their job.

“You are got to be fucking kidding me!”

Tegoshi cursed when he was able to fully read the big, red, bold lines on that poster.

°YUYA, WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?°

Tegoshi read the lines over and over but he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, his eyes must be tricking him, this can’t be for real. When you read something with your name on you get really self-conscious right? And Tegoshi couldn’t help but look around as if to see if people were looking at him, which was pretty much ridiculous though because who’d know his name?

“Don’t be stupid…” Tegoshi said under his breath, “There are plenty of Yuya’s in Tokyo, so just ignore it…” He kept repeating as he walked down the main road. To his surprise many, many more new posters were suddenly popping out of every single corner he looked at. The street going to his shop was plastered in strange posters that read his friggin name.

“What the fuck is this!?” Tegoshi couldn’t help but curse all over again, “What sick advertisement can this be?”

°YUYA! PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!°

°I’M BEGGING YOU YUYA, ONLY ONE DATE?°

°HOW ABOUT COFFEE? THAT’S ALL I’M ASKING FOR!°

°YUYA…. PLEASE?°

°RAMEN? SOBA? UDON?...YAKINIKU? - ANYTHING! PLEASE YUYA°

°NO FOOD? HOW ABOUT KARAOKE? … A MOVIE? … THEMEPARK?°

Reading every single poster made him more than just a little self-conscious, he was pretty damn sure that this was Yamapi’s work. There was no doubt anymore.

“Danmit! That crazy bastard!” Tegoshi cursed as he ran down the road as fast as he could, ignoring the last adverts that he wished to be put down just as quickly as they were put up. “He is completely out of his damn mind…..”

“Hey Shiraga!” One of Tegoshi’s coworkers yelled out as soon as Tegoshi entered the locker rooms. “Did you see the crazy new ads out there? I wonder what that’s about…”

“Yeah I did…” Tegoshi mumbled back, not really amused by the topic. “I doubt its about a new product though………..”

“You think?” The tall guy asked curiously, “You need to be completely crazy to do something like that in order to get someone to go out with you don’t you think?”

Tegoshi nodded, “Totally.”

“Maybe the other person is absolutely amazing that even that stupid act will be worth it, you know?” The guy kept rambling on about it when he noticed something….

“Hey wait, your first name is Yuya right?! Oh shit! Maybe those are for you then!” The guy burst out in laughter as Tegoshi kept changing into his work outfit. “What on earth have you been doing to some chick those days?” He grinned widely as he poked Tegoshi by his shoulder. “Awesome, dude! She must be friggin rich too! You know what you need to do right?”

Tegoshi looked up at the other guy as he fixed his shirt, “I don’t think they are meant for me so…” Tegoshi replied, trying to cover up his annoyance to be a good sport.

“I’m not believing you .. haha, say yes you hear me!? Say YES!”

Tegoshi shook his head and mumbled, “Whatever.” as he left the locker room as quickly as he could.

---

“You did a great job yesterday Shiraga-san!” Tegoshi’s boss said proudly as he patted his back.

Tegoshi nodded, “Thanks boss…”

“Yes you really did a nice job and thanks to that I’m trying not to get angry here…but could you please get rid of those things?” the older man added in a most annoyed tone and pointed towards countless colorful balloons that filled the staff room.

“I’m sorry about that boss, I have no idea what’s happening…”

Tegoshi fought with the small heart shaped balloons that came flying out of his locker.

“I hope for you that you will find out very soon!”

The older man shook his head and gave Tegoshi a serious glare before he left the room, the floating objects moved around him as he walked down the aisle.

Tegoshi let out a deep sigh of desperation, “What the fuck is that guy thinking….balloons? Seriously?” Tegoshi grabbed one of the red balloon, noticing the lines printed on it in white letters, “Yuya, please give me a chance?”

“Oh Jesus, that can’t be…….he is out of his friggin mind.”

Tegoshi used to like surprises, a lot, and even more if they were as romantic as red heart shaped balloons crowding his space, but right now and right here he couldn’t feel anything besides annoyance and anger. Not only because it was his damn work place but it was also healthier not to imagine how those balloons got here. Tegoshi didn’t appreciate the others stalking and started to feel freaked out all the more.

---

Safe and sound on his couch, Yamapi skipped through a few channels on TV. There wasn’t anything interesting showing and so he drifted off thinking about Tegoshi again.

“I wonder how he liked my surprises today…I wish I could have seen his face and reaction…” Yamapi sighed, sipping on a glass of white wine. “..but, wait.. he probably… just..freaked out…again.” The young business man sighed again, “I’m forgetting this isn’t the Yuya I know, the Yuya I know ..he would have loved it right?”

[Flash back - Their First Valentine’s Day …..]

“Good night Yamashita-san”

Tegoshi bowed before Yamapi’s mom, who opened the door for him that night.

“Good night Tegoshi-kun, Tomo is up in his room.” She said with a warm smile on her face, “I know you already know the way.”

“Thanks and happy Valentine’s Day mam.” The young boy shouted happily as he entered the house and rushed up the stairs into his boyfriend’s room.

“Happy Valentine’s Tegoshi-kun…” Yamapi’s mother whispered as she watched the boy disappear in her house.

“Hey Pii~~” Tegoshi yelled excited when he opened the door to the other’s room, but his smile quickly turned into a frown. “Ehhh... what is….this is very unusual…”

“What?”

Yamapi turned around, and looked up from his notebook. He eyed the boy curiously, wondering what he had spotted, nothing in his room was supposed to be different from last night. And he himself didn’t change either.

“Where are all the chocolates?” Tegoshi asked as he closed the door behind him and walked to his boyfriend, giving him a quick peck on the lips. “Every year you receive so many… where are they? Did you eat them all already?”

The young boy couldn’t stop wondering why this year he’d not seen a single piece of chocolate. He looked around the desk but didn’t find anything.

“I didn’t get any this year…” Yamapi said and watched Tegoshi drop down on his bed, after letting his bag fall onto the floor.

“Liar… the school council president and hottest senior didn’t get any? I even decided not to go after you during classes today, because I knew it would be too crowded around you…”

Tegoshi poked the little Togepi figure sitting on Yamapi’s bedside table.

“You’re right it was crowded…very annoyingly crowded like always.” Yamapi replied casually as he got up and walked toward the bed. “You can’t imagine how many girls came running.”

“See I knew it!” Tegoshi shouted, eying his boyfriend curiously. “So where did you hide the chocolates?”

Tegoshi smiled proudly, thinking he was correct about Yamapi lying before.

“I’m not hiding them, because I didn’t accept any…”

Yamapi maintained eye contact with his boyfriend as he crawled onto the bed and pushed Tegoshi gently against the mattress. Hovering over the boy as he placed his knees at each side of Tegoshi’s hips, he could smell his boyfriend’s sweet scent, which made him always wonder how he could resist from pinning him down onto the bed every time he doesn’t.

“Why would you do that? It’s chocolate Pi! I know you love chocolate and I could even help you eat them…” Tegoshi rambled on, supporting his torso with his elbows so he was face to face with Yamapi.

“I didn’t accept them because right now there’s only one person I want to get my Valentine’s chocolate from…” Yamapi bent slightly forward and let his lips move against Tegoshi’s as he spoke, without fully touching them just yet.

“Rrrr… really?” Tegoshi purred against Yamapi’s lips. Being so close that he could feel his warm breath against his and his soft lips almost touching his, were the only thoughts he could focus on right now.

“Yeah… And you know about who I’m talking about, right?”

Yamapi breathed, still not moving from his previous position, making Tegoshi start to feel dizzy with their closeness , which was yet too far for his liking.

“I guess I …know who it might be…” Tegoshi whisper against Yamapi’s lips and before he can reply with a single word, the younger boy pulled him down, so their lips could finally crash against each others in a sweet and heated kiss. After passionately rolling around Yamapi’s bed, Tegoshi finally broke their lips apart.

“Pi… I am happy to know that you only want my Valentine’s chocolate… But I didn’t get you any…” Tegoshi apologized and gave his boyfriend an embarrassed look.

“Mou… really Yu-chan?” Yamapi tried to hide that he felt a bit sad at Tegoshi’s statement, but he failed and the boy noticed the slightly crushed look on his face.

“Pi... don’t look so sad… you are making me feel even worse now…” Tegoshi brought his hand toward his boyfriend face, gently caressing his cheek as he moved closer to him on the bed. “I thought you would get so many chocolates that you wouldn’t want another one from me…. “ The boy dipped his head down to kiss Yamapi’s nose, “You always complain to me, saying how you hate to get all chocolates every year…” Tegoshi tried to make Yamapi understand his feelings, because he wasn’t lying.

“I complained because I don’t know those girls I don’t have feelings for them… “ Yamapi whispered sweetly as he caressed Tegoshi’s face in return. “But your chocolate would be very special, because you mean a lot to me Yuya… I love you Yu-chan…”

“Oh Pi… I love you too … I’m sorry Pi I didn’t know you would care so much about it…” Tegoshi apologized seriously, looking deep into his boyfriend eyes. “Can I try to make it up to you?”

“Don’t worry sweets… It’s ok… You don’t need to do anything Yu-chan.” Yamapi pressed a chaste kiss on Tegoshi’s lips, “But I’m curious… how would you make it up to me?” he asked with a grin.

“Um.. Let me think…” Tegoshi moved and got into a sitting position, “Ok I have three options for you. I could sing you a song… I could give you something I have in my bag… or I could kiss you till you get dizzy and breathless.” The young boy smiled cheekily, “You’d like any of it??”

“Let me see…” Yamapi smirked and pulled Tegoshi closer until he sat between his legs. “Even though I love your voice and I’m curious about what you could have in your bag for me… But I think I will choose the amazing kiss session with you.”

“Wait, didn’t you say I don’t need to do anything?” Tegoshi let his hands travel up Yamapi’s neck until they found the soft strands of his dark hair to play with.

“Well well, you have laid out such nice options for me, how can I stick to what I said before?” Yamapi tried to pout, but failed. “ I had to change my mind…”

Tegoshi giggled, “You know pouting doesn’t really suit you Pi…”

Yamapi let out a low cry but before he could say anything in reply, Tegoshi already pressed his lips softly against Yamapi’s as they engaged in another sweet kiss. And like Tegoshi always stuck to his words, after a while both boys were indeed breathless and dizzy.

Yamapi dropped back onto the soft bed sheets; with his eyes closed he hoped to regain his sane mind as soon as possible. While he rested for a moment, he could hear Tegoshi getting up and open his bag, and not long after that Yamapi feel light pressure on his chest. He opened his eyes and found a little pink box placed on his body. It was cutely wrapped in red and white heart decorated paper with a little card stuck to its top. The card read ‘to my one and only, Pi’.

Yamapi sat back up curiously picking up the small box, “Hey you….didn’t you say you don’t have anything for me?” The older boy asked slightly angry but smiled brightly as he unwrapped the present. Inside he found a cute fluffy white teddy wearing a pink heart around his neck and tiny Silver Star shaped chocolate pralines. “Oh wow, that’s too sweet….”

“I lied … “Tegoshi who stood in front of the bed smiled too, warm and happy. “I wanted mine to be surprise… and since you were already waiting for it, it wasn’t really that much fun to give it to you right away …”

Yamapi dropped the little box next to the Togepi toy figure on the bedside table before he pulled Tegoshi down onto the bed, “You little brat…” and soon the young boy was again on top of him.

“I lied … I wanted mine to be a surprise… and since you were already waiting for it wasn’t that much fun to give it …”

“You little brat…” Yamapi says while pulling Tegoshi down to the bed and soon being on top of him after gently placing the little box close to the Togepi toy in the bedside table. Tegoshi smirked triumphantly and Yamapi moved closer toward his face to kiss him, but Tegoshi stopped his movements by placing his hand against Yamapi chest.

Tegoshi glared at his boyfriend. “Hey wait….where is my chocolate?”

“Eto… I… well… yours….I mean…” Yamapi mumbled not really knowing what to say.

“You didn’t get me any did you?” Tegoshi sighed, and by the look of his boyfriend’s flushed face he knew it was true.

“No… but Yu-chan I though… well…” Yamapi started but wasn’t finding the right words, because he hadn’t actually given this whole Valentine’s experience the right thoughts in the first place.

“You thought that I was the only one who should give chocolates, right?” Tegoshi mumbled a little disappointed, never breaking their eye contact. “I’m …not… a… girl… you… know?” he said, poking Yamapi’s chest after each word.

“I know Yu-chan… I’m sorry.”

The look in Yamapi’s eyes told Tegoshi that he was truly sorry. “I will make it up to you, I promise.” The older boy smiled a little, “I will give you a present back on white day! Don’t’ you think its…fair?”

Tegoshi sighed, “It’s nice, thank you but… it doesn’t change the fact that you keep treating me like a girl, don’t you think?”

“Moou, Yuyaa.. it’s not like that…I swear. I am not seeing you as my girlfriend, not really.. I mean we are you know.. um..” Yamapi tried to soften the atmosphere again but was hardly getting anywhere.

Tegoshi shook his head and pushed Yamapi down onto the mattress, “Whatever you say, but it better be the most amazing white day present, do you hear me?” Tegoshi tired to sound annoyed, but his pout didn’t last for long because he couldn’t be properly angry with Yamapi.

The older boy looked up at him and played with the collar of his sports shirt, “I swear, it will be the best present, ever. I promise!” Yamapi finally smiled again when he saw a smile coming to Tegoshi’s lips as well. It was a good sign that Tegoshi wasn’t mad at him anymore.
Tegoshi bent down and whispered against Yamapi’s ear, “Happy Valentines Pi…”

“Happy Valentines Yuu-chan…” Yamapi said back before locking their lips together in a soft kiss that soon lead to another and another and another, which in the end would leave them both breathless and dizzy again. It truly was a Valentine’s night to remember, their first Valentine’s night together.
