One problem with preparing for my trip to England: Now that I know all the cool shit that's going on there, I wish I were already there. Like, really badly.

I started it six hours ago. I already have three followers.

I'm in episode 3 of Afghanada, and it's pretty bad. Some of the Canadian accents are so charicatured that the characters sound like Bob and Doug Mackenzie and not real people. And too much of the plot is driven forward by the characters' stupidity.

So far the best radio I've heard by far is Hitchhiker's Guide and Cabin Pressure, and Cabin Pressure ( Read more... )

So I'm listening to the original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio plays, and in many ways they remind me of Cabin Pressure (which is of course backwards, chronologically), and it occurred to me to wonder if John Finnemore named Douglas Richardson after Douglas Adams and Arthur Knapp-Shappey after Arthur Dent ( Read more... )

... are just plain execrable. I've listened to about six of them now, and each one seems worse than the last. "In Flanders Field" is nothing but tedious wartime propaganda, and "Paradol Chamber" features a twittery air-headed Mary who is nonetheless more intelligent than her bumbling husband. Ugh.
