Getting Closer

Full-time date fast approaches.

I just realized that I have about three months or so left. Or less. I might push it forward a little. I've been feeling more confident lately. And something has just begun to happen at work that has surprised me: some customers have been pegging me as female without me even wearing makeup or dressing completely female ( Read more... )

That is awesome that you get read as female when you feel like you are not even trying. I get that rarely, but I hope to get it more to happen to me. I have noticed my adam's apple is really bad at times too. I probably will need a shave there.

What kind of female tops do you feel you are not ready for out of curiosity?

As for telling your co-workers, it may be better to do either individual talks with them if you think that would help or trust them. I would definitely have something available for them to read if they have questions because many cisgender people have misconceptions about trans people. How many co-workers would it be at the meeting?

Well it happens way less than I'd like. I'm going to try putting on a little makeup or eyeliner at work and see how it goes. I'm wearing eyeliner today and it looks pretty good.

Female tops? Anything decidedly feminine, tops with really low collars and what not. That's been changing over the last few weeks though; I'm getting more confident.

Yeah, well, they didn't let me discuss it at the meeting, they want me to do it person by person. I'm not sure if that's the best way to do it, but that's what they'd prefer it seems.

I have never really tried to watch eyeliner.

I bet you could pull off a lot of female tops just from my limited observations. For me, I tend to wear scoop cut shirts, V necks shirts, or tank tops. I wear those type of shirts because it is highly suggested by places that I wear those type of shirts to draw attention from my thick neck and wide shoulders. I definitely don't have any cleavage for those shirts to show, but I know that they best suit me because I definitely look more masculine otherwise.

I did half of my meetings at work individually, and the other half with people in a small group meeting. I think in a way that the people I came out to individually have taken it much better than the other group. That is my experience so far, but the people in the group meeting were people I do not work as closely with.
