So, the lawsuit is finally over and it seems that JKR and WB are victorious.  I am relieved because I do think that the Lexibook borrowed too heavily from Rowling. The lawsuit between JKR and uberfan Steve Vander Ark has caused a huge rift in fandom. The pro-SVA side is often categorized as DH haters or Over-zealous shippers. However, I think much of the Pro-SVA is made of fan fiction writers. These are the people most likely to use the Lexicon, the biggest fans. Interesting. I've been following the JKR/SVA trial and admit to being on the JKR side. I find plagiarism, or its legal term of copyright infringement, abhorrent.  For me, that's the crux of the issue. I think the book is infringing.But, I'm not a judge so I await the verdict.
