There were probably, at least, one hundred and one other more important things that Ethan should have been doing at that time; memos, emails, phonecalls, meetings, letters and paperwork. All of it however had been put aside and Ethan had taken to the open training ground where the grass had been cut back on a 150 yard long strip and a hole made

Idly, she started playing with one of his clubs. She knew next to nothing about golf but since it looked like a bigger fancier version of the clubs at put-put, she was going to guess that it was a putter. Angie gave it a little practice swing but it was obvious she didn't play by her lack of form. Spaghetti arms, locked knees, and her back wasn't straight. Good thing her aim wasn't to look like a golfer but to look cute. Mission accomplished.
"So is this what you do in your spare time? Make with the Caddyshack?"

"Pretty much... clearly you've never golfed before." Of course Angie's attempt to look cute as she swings the club like a weapon ends up looking cute, and if Ethan were a better man, a stronger man, he'd not allow himself to be distracted. However when it comes to Angie all of Ethan's will power goes out of the window and far far away. Tugging her over gently to stand where he was in line with the tee, Ethan presses his chest flush with Angie's back.
"If you're going to go weilding these things you might as well do it properly. Wouldn't want you taking someone's eye out by accident now would we?"

Her breath caught a little when he took the roll of lecherous golf coach and pressed his body against her. As pervy instructors went she certainly hit the jackpot though her gaze did dart guiltily around keeping an eye out for her husband. It was innocent enough. He was showing her how to stand. She mostly felt guilty about how much she liked the attention.
"So I hold it like this?" She asked correcting her posture a bit though she's still off.

He keeps one hand over hers, guiding them to where they should be on the club and the other rests on Angel's hip. He nudges her to stand in the right position. If they were caught Ethan could easily explain that as Vance was his best friend and all it was only right that he taught his wife how to play golf properly. Anyway, there was nothing wrong with showing Angel the correct way to stand.
"Ease your hand to... there perfect. Now swing slowly back and... excellent." Ethan murmurs against Angie's ear as he guides her.

At least until she heard the thwack and saw the small ball sailing through the air. Sykes was putting off work again. Or he was fighting with the lady again. Sometimes Ethan was very bad at keeping his thoughts to himself, and as much as Emma didn't intrude, when things hit on her powers, it was hard to ignore them.
Slowing to a jog, Emma headed towards where Ethan usually stood while hitting the balls, she'd meant to speak to him anyway, why not do it now?
"You're listing a little to the left."

He gets the feeling that Emma knows all too well that Ethan is avoiding doing work and is instead out here playing golf and trying to delay the inevitable before he is faced with the pile of work that means he simply can't go home. Which will mean a late night argument over the phone with Emily followed by a night spent in one of the rooms given to the MRE team.

She'd brought it up the day after the attack, she'd mentioned it to him as soon as she'd known for sure what had gone on. Getting a hold of Hank to talk about it had helped. "Any progress?"
It wasn't like she expected him to have all the answers, but she did expect a few leads so that she could go and get the answers. While Ethan wasn't totally dedicated to his job -just his career mind- Emma knew for a fact he wouldn't drag his feet on this. She'd tear him a hole that would make Emily weep if he did.

And that comment earns Emma a pointed look, he's not going to start blaming people for giving the division a bad name. Never. But they are both more than well aware of the damage it could do. "Last we heard they were keeping close to the Canadian border. My data suggests that they'll be in Minnesota by now in Minneapolis."
