Here's a quarter, call someone who cares - OTA

Having your powers drained by someone you consider to be more like a sister than a friend is annoying but live-able. It was an accident and Ric doesn't blame Rogue in the slightest, anyway he lived and really wasn't all that bothered by the consequential trip to hospital (he was unconscious at that part), transfer back to the base (awake by this ( Read more... )

Listening to the warbling down the phone, holding it back just to look at it, Ophelia raises a curious eyebrow. Plopping herself on the desk by the phone, she crosses her legs and listens to the rather out of key singing.

"Should you be talking to someone else? Don't think the boy would be impressed, dearest Rictor, of your verse." It's not as if she minds, of course, but really. Ric should be resting, he's been through so much, and Phe is now placed under house arrest.

"What are you doing, or what are you wearing? She can't get a good image, so paint it for her."

"I'm bored Phe." Ric knows that there is a chance that Martini will grumble at him for singing to everyone but then again they'll all be getting the same song apart from Mark who'll be probably making requests and joining in. Anyway there is no harm in providing in camp entertainment right?

But yes, perhaps Phe does have a point. Ric isn't in the best of shapes but then again he's been out of the loop for a few days now that he's not aware of the drama and level of camp lock down that is taking place.

"I'm sat in bed in the medical centre and currently I am sporting a rather attractive pair of blue scrub pants and a hoody because I'm feeling a little under the weather." His voice is a croaky and hoarse and there has been some coughing but mostly Ric has been confined to bed and told to rest so he has no idea how far along in the sickness he really is.

Actually he's tempted to google it and see whether there is anything about it online. "So what are you wearing baby?" Ric sniffles as he boots up the laptop. "And what are you doing

Phe's not entirely sure what's going on. All she knows is that some people are sick and some people aren't and apparently it's a pretty big deal. She's not too fussed, so long as they take care of her Bric-a-Brac.

Now that she's got the image of him, she'll talk to her imaginary Ric, swaddled up in bed. "I am wearing a night shirt." It's an old style night shirt, with the long sleeves and the ruffled collar, it goes to her knees and happens to be a little old. "And socks." That go all the way up her legs to her thighs. It's not that Phe gets overly cold, it's just that she has an odd sense of dress.

"Been thinking about decorating. Want the wall to tell a story, not too sure if that's allowed. I'd ask a question to get the answer, but sometimes it's better left ignored." And if she's told no, but gets bored and does it anyway, well she'll get into trouble and the chance of the brig does not sit well with a contact needy empath.

Ric knows what night shirt Phe is talking about, he thinks it's rather endearing if he's honest the way that Phe loves to wear these old style clothes. Anyway she carries those outfits so well there's little room for anyoneto judge her. That said, people still do.

"Decorating huh? Well I doubt that anyone is going to kick up a fuss whilst we're all on lock down hmmm?" Ric fluffs the pillows behind him and settles back as he types in his log-on and waits for the screen to load up.

"So what's been going on out there then whilst I've been in here? Any idea why we've all been put under lock down? Because this pack is giving me nothing sweetheart." There is the taping of keyboard keys as Ric starts to google and search up on the sickness. He's no computer whizz but he's quite happily clicking away at the internet, he might send an email to his Mama, check up on the latest news and search out some porn to cheer him up.

Vanessa had barely crept into her room, it seemed like whatever bug had half the team down already was now catching up with her. She had been able to ignore her sore limbs the day before, had chalked that up to her new workout routine. The headache could have been the weather, too. But the terrible cough now couldn't be explained away, she was sick, too.

So she had fallen into bed, pulled her blanket over her head and hoped that the world wouldn't miss her for at least 48 hours so she could sleep it off.

When the phone rang she didn't react at first-she had completely overlooked it and since it had never rung before wasn't even aware of it's existence. She picks up without a word and when she hears whoever is on the other end start to sing she chuckles. By the end she would be laughing hard, but instead she is coughing up what feels like her lungs.

"Whoever's there, are you trying to kill me?" She barely croaks, trying to catch her breath.

"Woah you don't sound too good at all!" Ric pulls the phone away from his ear to check who he just dialled numberwise so he can marry up the contact to a name. Trailing his finger down the page he finds Carlysle, Vanessa printed next to the digits and takes a moment to... ah yes. The blue lady.

Phone back against his ear Ric clears his own throat trying to ignore the sore, scratchy feeling as he does so. "You know you should really think about getting your pert ass down to the medical centre if you're not feeling so good. Those nurses will be around soon to take your blood and determine if you are sick with what a few of us have got. Which I'm guessing will be a yes."

OKay, so Ric isn't so great with the whole pep talk thing but from the fact that they are all being put into lock down he's guessing it's serious and that there is no messing to be had.

Honestly, she hadn't been expecting him to call her. She'd been told that they were allowed to do that, to talk to each other while everyone was in lock down. Really, she wasn't sure why she couldn't just wander over to talk to him if she was already sick. It wasn't like she could infect someone that was already infected, could she?

"Darlin', what're y' doin'?" In a bid to combat the soft Mexican accent she took on for a while, Rogue's Southern accent has come back with a vengeance. Considering the few days they've had, she thinks it's a little unfair that they've ended up sick and in the hospital again. "Ain't ya meant t' be restin'? Ah think that goes f'r y'r voice too."

Part of her wants to sing the next line, part of her wants to drunk dial herself, part of her is itching to get out of this place and walk barefoot along the ground just to feel it. But that's this new part of her, Ric's part of her, the part that keeps arguing with Carol and trying to get her to just break out.

She should've guessed that Rictor would be a noisy

It was peculiar to hear just a slight hint of an accent knew all to well before it's quickly drowned out with a stronger Southern lilt. Ric doesn't comment on it though, their whole drama in Spokane wasn't Rogue's fault so he has no reason to not pester her and chat away on the phone. In his mind the whole event has a neat little line drawn under it and is being firmly put away into a corner to be ignored or forgotten about ( ... )

She didn't like talking about it because of the sheer invasiveness of it all. While Rictor might believe that she only had a few of his memories, she's got a lot more than that. It's hard to explain just how much of her personality today is Carol, just how much of her drive is from Carol. Now she's got a large part of Rictor floating about her head, just like Cody, she's got his wants and part of his personalty there too ( ... )

If Ric had any inkling just what Rogue was able to know about him from their accidental contact he'd probably freak out. All of his feelings, thoughts, emotions, memories, fears... gods the list could go on. There is so much to him that Ric has learnt to bury deep down inside, all of which Rogue is going to have to learn to deal with. Those coping mechanisms all in place to help keep up that facade of a happy go lucky Mexican with very few cares in the world beyond his next cigarette and where his makeshift family are ( ... )
