After the debacle that was the camp invasion, Lorna had been keeping a low profile. She and Olivia had been moved into a room in the other building while the damage to theirs was getting fixed -and Lorna was glad, really. A hole in the wall probably wasn't the best in the world to be living with. She also wasn't sure if she wanted to go back to ( Read more... )

Emma was going to make it easy for Lorna. Wandering back from the medical centre, she couldn't help but spot Lorna sitting and just staring. It was hard to miss the girl once she'd stopped dying her hair all the time. The green suited her so much better than basic bottle brown.

Since the attack, Emma hadn't really had the chance to check up on people -on Rictor or Lorna or anyone really. She felt a little guilty, calling Lorna out here only for this to happen, but from what she'd heard, Lorna had handled herself very well, even to the point of pushing herself past her usual power level. Something that Emma was very proud of.

Taking a seat beside Lorna, Emma sighed softly. "How're you doing, dearest?"

It's touch and go for a moment -if Lorna would hug Emma or not. She manages to just grab Emma's wrist, somewhere short of grateful. "I was worried about you." It's foolish, she knows this. But Emma hadn't responded once to Lorna's frantic calls before, and then everything had just been a blur of activity. "I tried to think at you."

It's the best way Lorna can describe it, thinking at Emma. Either way, it was a call and Emma hadn't heard it. "Are things okay? I mean, this is all a little intense, Emma. I mean, Miss Frost. I mean, ma'am."

Lorna was losing track of where she was going with this.

Emma doesn't pull her hand away, just turning her body to face Lorna, hopefully to calm her slightly. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise. I spent most of the time in my diamond form." For her own protection really, and for the need. Without her telepathy, her diamond form gave her the ability to deflect attacks from the invaders. "I couldn't hear you ( ... )

She managed, she guessed. It wasn't ideal but she managed. Haylie's powers had freaked her out like hell, and the fact that someone nearly died -someone from the team at least, that scared the shit out of her too. She'd never lost team mates before. The Academy of Tomorrow were peaceful, mostly. They'd never had anything so violent happen beyond a street riot or two.

"It was scary. Middle of the night, didn't know what was going on. Going to freaking war in my PJs?" She must've looked so intimidating in her cute little shorts and tank top. "We did okay though."

The fact that Emma considered her a friend was good enough for Lorna right then. She wasn't exactly running wild with friends, not right then. "Thanks, I mean, thanks." Lorna was still struggling with why she was there, but surely Emma knew what she was doing. "You must be so busy, is the Captain okay? Did things go smoothly?"

Martini was his usual easygoing self. It had been quite a while since he had gotten up to any mischief, a feat that he was sure God himself was marveling at. His mind was feeling calmer today. There was less noise going inside and it was easier to concentrate on just the present.

Seeing the one with the pretty green hair, Martini was observant enough to realize she had a lot on her mind. He tilted his head curiously as he approached her. There would be no getting sidetracked today. He was determined to stay focused, even if he found the current time to be as dull as dirt. "Penny for your thoughts?" He pulled an actual one out of his pocket and flipped it at Lorna.

Turning, Lorna couldn't battle back the smile at the flipped coin. "Cute." Turning it over, she thought things over again. "Is it always like this here?"

It wasn't like she'd gotten off to the best start with the time-walker or whatever he was. But surely, if anyone knew anything, it should be him? And he wasn't poking her to see if she was real, so maybe she'd be able to get some answers. "It's just so much, I'm not sure, I just...It's mental." All her vocabulary, and that's what she comes out with.

With the release of energy he had used during the attack on camp, Mark's mind had swung back towards the saner side of things. He was much more lucid and was even making more of an effort than usual to listen to what Lorna was asking him.

"It's always this way. Sometimes it's even worse." Martini didn't even think of softening the blow such words might carry. Indeed, he said them almost cheerfully. He liked the way things were now. It was less crazy and more structured than they had been.

It wasn't reassuring at all. She didn't really want anything like this. Her life before had been fairly normal, a few protests to watch over, some media stuff to clean up. She'd never been involved in a full scale attack. The riot had been one thing, and she wasn't alone there. It had been the start of this though, and Lorna wondered how her life would've gone had she not been wrongfully arrested for murder.

"I'm not sure I'm up for this." Turning the penny over in her hands, Lorna ran her thumb over the face there. "It's a bit much, isn't it? I mean, I'm not used to this, I've never done this before. I don't even know if I can take it."
