Quick question-

So, I went to a vocational school, and one of the things they do for you is make you a resume. At the bottom of mine they put "references avialable upon request". What are your feelings on this? Good or bad idea? Should the references be automatically put on the resume? Will the resume go right in the trash if I don't put it on there?

question, resumes

I've seen advice go both ways. Some books by experts insist on you putting them on, others insist on leaving them off. Mine are on, because I ran into a spate of job ads requiring them on the resume for some reason. Maybe it's a 'Let's see if people read and pay attention' thing :)

I use "references available upon request" because it lets me put more info on my resume instead of having 1/5th or 1/6th the page eaten up by names and contacts.
