I'm in the field!!!
Squee! I'm so excited right now. After two days of office training, I'm finally in the field. Today we were working in some oil fields outside of Vernal doing some survey work. A job! A job! My kingdom for a... oh... wait...
I am so excited to be starting my new job. I mean, weirdly excited. You might not know it to look at me, or listen to me. For example, yesterday (gosh, was it only yesterday?), I was lying on my therapist's couch. In which the Hamster Wheel of Destiny decides to take on a course of its own
So as of a few days ago, I was planning for the future. Rent a U-Haul, rent a storage shed. Pack my stuff, move from my apartment, be gone by May 10th. I gave my notice at work, gave my notice at the apartment complex, told all my friends I would be leaving. It was all arranged, down to the U-Haul trailer I would pick up on the 8th of May.

I guess I have a few things to talk about. Some of them good, some of them bad. Or is it some of the bad, and some of them at least not so bad?

Four letters sent. Two letters returned. The answer to those is no. So begins the test of my faith again. Faith in lots of things. Faith in my abilities. I'm getting more used to Austin. Today was a very productive day. This morning, I met with a professor in the conservation and preservation department. We talked a bit about the master's program and how it can be adapted to different things. Day Eight
It's been a busy and weird few days. I spent most of Friday just emailing and working on my personal statement. I've also started researching topics for my writing sample - the comparison and evolution of insular Christianity. I'm actually pretty excited about the paper - it will just take a bit of work.
