[location: John Everton's House] [OPEN TO ALL!] BLOCK PARTY!!!

Jul 03, 2009 19:39

The time had come. Charlotte left John in charge of setting up the bar, giving him only the one request that he have a decent selection of beer, and did the work of dialing up the food. She knew she was going way over board. For all she knew no one might show up, even though she'd gotten a bit of a response to her invite. How could people ( Read more... )

HAY GUYS, it's Toby, and he's brought Canadian beer (bow down). He smiles upon seeing the crowd that's formed, although he's expecting a headache from trying to block out all these thoughts.

Pillage away.

John came up to Toby to take the beer. "Canadian. Nice. That's the one kind I really can't get the hatches to do justice to for me. I'm not drinking it enough."

He stuck his hand out and smiled. "John Everton. Welcome to my house and Charlie's party."

Toby accepted the hand with a smile. "Toby Logan, thanks for having me."

"Of course, of course. Best way to meet people here, give everyone something to do together." He gestured toward the gathering. "Easier to talk escape later if everyone's had a chance to mingle."

The little red dot was annoying. Gwen had been tracking it for half an hour getting lost countless times throughout the city before she finally thought she was heading in the right direction. One thing she hadn't expected to find upon her little quest for the red dot was finding a shindig.

Stuffing the tablet into her pocket the brown coated captain stood off on the edge of the group quietly tilting her head to the left and studying the people there. Yeah she had a few options mostly centering around being sociable or continuing on her way however the want to need to find out more about what was going on overcame any need for red dot hunting.

Lowering her arms to her side one of the newer arrivals progressed toward the group with a wry smile upon her face. "If I had known there was a party I would have remembered t' bring somethin'."

John had slipped away to enjoy a cigarette without kittens, so he watched Gwen approach. He held up a hand in greeting. "No need to have brought anything. Charlie made enough food for everyone to eat and take home."

He came close and held the same hand out in an offer of a shake. "I'm John Everton. This is my house. Somewhere around here is Miss Charlotte Blaine, the organizer of this shindig. And you are, besides welcome, of course?"

The smile that crossed over Gwen's face wasn't embarrassed but slightly on the sheepish side. "I guess that keeps me out of the dog house on being a neighbor then." Idly her hand brushed against the pocket of the rather worn brown duster she wore. "Of course I reckon I could always use th' excuse of being brand spankin' new to th' place all else aside."

Accepting John's hand she gave a little firm shake as she would with any client she was just meeting. "Gāoxìng jìandào nĭ, John. My name is Gwen MacKenzie. Looks like a mighty fine place you got here and so willin' t' share with folk."

He understood sheepish. He was not, really, the most social of people, which was why this was Charlie's show. "Well, we are all in this place together. Seems to make sense, getting everyone meeting and greeting."

He nodded his head toward the party. "Come on in. Have a drink. We'll be starting the food soon, provided that replicator gave me a grill that actually works."

Barnabas knew that it would be rude if he didn't show up, especially since he'd seen the invitation, so naturally, he put in an appearance. Besides, it was a good opportunity to get out of the room he'd been staying in and actually look around the city a little bit.

Of course, he's a little late, but he's been "busy" all day. Surely people will understand.

And there he is, generally observing the entire thing. Especially the kittens. He may or may not think they're the cutest things ever.

John came over to greet the newest arrival, just in time to have Aleister appear on his shoulder. It did make offering a hand shale a little difficult, so he settled for a smile instead. "Welcome! Glad you could make it. Name's John."

Barnabas snapped out of kitten-staring to look over at who had greeted him, then glanced over to what was on his shoulder, and then back. He smiled and nodded. "Barnabas Collins, sir. A pleasure to meet you."

"Barnabas. That's a name I haven't heard in a very long time. It's a pleasure to meet you, too." As if to make the greeting more complete, Al has spotted someone who might like some kitten company. He goes from John's shoulder to Barnabas's with a playful little meow.

Brigitta has actually managed to leave her sword behind for the occaision, gasps of shock are allowed... Basically, she managed it thanks to a handy amount of mental trickery on her part, and she does have a good few knives shoved in the coat that she's wearing, it is thus tolerable.

...Aaand she also has a bottle of Everclear tucked in among the knives, for just in case, but nobody knows about that except Dean and she's not telling.

So, yes, Brigitta shall just be standing there wearing a innocent smile that might just be taken to mean 'Nope, of course I don't have several weapons and some very strong alcohol on me, I don't known what you're talking about' but shall probably just be taken as a friendly smile, feel free to bug her!

Innocent smiles attract John like no body's business. So, of course, he has honed in on Brigitta. "Welcome to the party! Come on in, no one here will bite, I hope." It was a ridiculously weak joke, but he needed to do it.

Brigitta laughs at that, starting to move towards the bar and smirking as she does so, well if somebody invites her to drink a lot of alcohol she can hardly refuse, it would be impolite "well, unless I ask them to of course."

...Yeah, innocent smile, not so innocent mind there.

"Of course. That's just a unspoken rule. You have to ask." He needed to stop. If Charlie heard him joking about this even a little, she'd slap him silly.

"Come this way, then." He lead her on the most direct route to the makeshift bar. "What would you like?"

The Deadmobile idled in front of John's house as Cassie looked out the passenger window. She'd been driving around the city, nothing better to do and noticed the decorations and the people milling about. Cassie wasn't much of a partier, but she'd done it once. It was a cover, of course. Hunting Father Wrath on Spring Break. She'd drank, danced with a cute boy, kissed a girl. But all for the sake of getting the slasher. Course, the vomiting and the hangover the next morning weren't exactly awesome, but she'd survived. But would she survive this ( ... )

The knock startled John. He was the only one in the house, for the moment, and certainly wasn't expecting the knock. Maybe someone needed the bathroom. Or they just hadn't gone all the way back yet.

He opened the door and smiled. "Hello?" It took him a moment to recognize that he didn't recognize her. "Oh! You're here for the party?" He grinned.

Gathering himself up, he stepped out the door and gestured that she come with him the rest of the way around the house and to the party proper.

Cassie gave a lopsided smile in reply to John's greeting. "Uh, yeah, I guess," Cassie nodded. There's still a chance to get out now. Can't be forcing smiles all night, you're face'll start to hurt.

"Thanks," Cassie said, stepping inside, looking around the place. It was homey, which was something Cassie was completely not used to the past few years.

"This your place?" She asked. God, that was nosy of you, Cassie. Just cause a guy answers the door doesn't mean it's his house. You suck at social interaction when Slashers aren't involved.

Charlotte hadn't realized John was inside when she went in. Someone had suggested a pitcher of a mixed drink she didn't recognize and they needed a clean pitcher. She'd fetched it and was headed back out when she heard the voices.

Standing in the doorway to the living room, she cleared her throat. "It is. He completely busts all my stereotypes of how a man lives alone." She looked around at the room, which really was homey and pleasant, with a soft smile. "Of course, the kittens are going to shred everything."
