Those that either visited the Sanctuary For All, or lived there, had probably noticed that Helen was not in the infirmary that day. The bed she was in had been neatly made and put back into order as it should of been. He stopped walking when he saw the tops of the Sanctuary for All. What had made his feet carry him this way? John asked himself this and many other questions, but stopped all of that when he heard a voice. John turned, looking for the source. He still wasn't used to his tablet. Finally, he reached into his pocket and extracted it. The screen was dark, but the voice was still so familiar.
"Helen." He breathed without thinking, already cursing himself. John needed to control himself, it seemed. How many nights of hers could he ruin before he learned?

She glanced at the tablet as she continued to go through the boxes. Helen had to admit, if to no one but herself, that it was odd. Odd that John hadn't come to her side after the attack. She was sure that John hadn't heard of it, which was even stranger still. He had kept tabs on her for one-hundred years, and then when they came to an unknown city, he dropped his habits?

He had watched as much as the tablets would allow, and forced himself to stay indoors. His presence had only hurt her in his time in Taxon. No right move came without two or three wrong ones to dash all of his hopes to show her the changed man that he hoped to become. Running to her side when she was hurt was his instinct, and as such, he fought the urge in order to do right by her.
He noticed the decorations and thought it was just like Helen to continue with her holiday activities, no matter where she ended up. It was a good quality, to press on. It was something he had always admired about her.

I suppose you've found out about the other residents, from the sound of it.

...Yeah, you've have a point there.

If you'd like, I could always turn off the music. Some are rather not in the Christmas cheer, I believe.

As he stepped into the doorway, he crossed his arms and said, "You're rather chipper today? Christmas bug caught you?"

But he did have to be somewhat stingy with his good cheer, and the smile is soon marred with some measure of concern. "How's your head?"

Which, just merely was the large complicated version of 'I am better.'
She smiled again though. "Most likely it explains my manner of speech, my mannerisms in general, and my accent?"

"You know, you should go with some of the older decorations." This made her smile, though she'd always been a fan of Christmas. Not really the cold, although as a child she'd loved playing in the snow, but just Christmas in general. Family, stories and just basic enjoyment; you couldn't get that much better than it.
"And maybe even set up another Getaway?"

Ashley thought for a moment about the decorations. By 'old' she hadn't meant the 19th century but she should have expected that too. "Early 20th?" In the middle, sort of.
