I didn't know Jo'd said Harry would never be a teacher; I really haven't followed the masses of interviews over the years. It's interesting that she stuck to it, then. :)

Agreed, and I also think JKR wrote it partly to stop people sending letters asking her to write about their lives after Hogwarts - although now she'll probably get thousands of letters moaning about how much the epilogue "sucked". Poor JKR! I didn't mind the epilogue, personally.
I loved Snape's motivation for protecting Harry all these years, and I thought it was wonderfully in character - he wasn't doing it for Harry's sake, he was doing it for Lily's. I felt quite sorry for Snape at the end. He had a hard life, and it would have been satisfying for him to find happiness eventually. And I used to hate Snape! :)
All in all, a enjoyable read.
