Family Update
Where to begin? I just got a call from my mom today. Nanny's going to Manitoba tomorrow. I'll be going out to see her before she goes, and wish her well. Her boyfriend though ... he's got pneumonia. They put off his surgery for weeks, leaving him bed-ridden and in pain (though they gave pain killers, I'd imagine). But because of weeks of inactivity

Who made the call to not have this surgery and why?

"Oh, he's old and has cancer. We're not entirely sure he'll wake from the anaesthetic. He says it's fine and to try to revive him, but we'll decide instead to just let him waste away and die."
