I have to snap out of it and go and look at microfilms in the place of all horror and terror, the bibliothèque municipale, after fighting my way through huge piles of trash and possibly striking high school students and their parents to get there. Aw man. So today I was planning (was planning, she says ominously) to go and work in the bibliothèque municipale downtown, but what with one thing and another, I got a late start. I've been trying to convince myself to go outside, where according to opening my window and sticking my arm out, it is cool and crisp but not especially chilly (12 degrees celsius, officially), and more importantly, where it is gloriously sunny, but I've failed for the moment, and am having a cup of tea and updating. Today I achieved a series of small victories that alas, hardly put a dent in the horrible level of stressed out I'm feeling. ACK! The US Dollar is PLUNGING against the Euro, and that is not good news for my US-funded travel expenditures! I AM ON A BUDGET HERE, WORLD ECONOMIES! The fact that the Canadian and US dollars are basically at parity, both against each other, and against the Euro, is really small consolation.
