I don't buy the co-wife deal for a second. If he wanted a co-wife, why would he not tell you of it in the first place? Was he planning on EVER saying so? I could see why you wouldn't want to press that point though, given his violence. Thank heavens you're out of that situation now, at least.
It was just an affair he tried to justify after the fact. That was the way most guys who tried the two wife thing got into it, and it's not the way it was done back in "Vedic" times.
It was pointless to try to say so at the time because I knew it would lead to violence and not do any good anyway. It's refreshing to be able to talk about it now, though, and show it for what it was.
Or else they do what they want and then try to use God to justify it later.
The way he was going about the co-wife thing wasn't how it would have been done, anyway, even when it was acceptable. You don't have an affair and then try to say it's a marriage.
I'm glad many years have gone by since then and I have a husband who is a million times better. :)
