There is so much snow everywhere. It is bothering me. So, Soterious finally decided to hook up the cable internet, after cancelling our dial-up internet. It took him about four weeks. This is my favorite food from Turkey, and I find it very easy to make here in America. It is called 'Imam Bayildi,' which literally means 'the Imam fainted.' It serves four people, but you can make it for more very easy.

It is Thanksgiving here. In this country they have a big dinner to show thanks for the harvest and the native americans not killing them four hundred years ago. I do not entirely understand this holiday because the majority of the people in this country are not descended from the pilgrims so why are they celebrating the pilgrims? Today the woman my age who lives near me and I went to a bar. It was very shocking, after growing up where a woman drinking alcohol would be asking for trouble! I think she enjoyed my culture shock though. I do not want to tell her that I have done this before, when I moved from my village outside Van to Mersin! I am going to be starting this journal and trying to write in English to improve my English. I like America a lot--it's amazing how much "meat" there is! In Turkey we ate fruits and vegetables and grains all the time, tofu we ate only when we ate out in Istanbul!
