2,040 words on Ambergin between my last whiney post and now. End of a chapter, plenty of setup. The end-game begins. What I've been picturing now has to make it into words. We'll see how it plays out

(Myself I just realized that I have to trash 3000 words for it's a chapter that really doesn't work, and I will have to start from scratch with that - but if I can rewrite a whole book a single chapter should not be so daunting. Right....?)
I don't hate most of the words I wrote last night, but I have to say I think there will be some heavy editing. Pretty much everything I wrote last night was dialogue, or tags for dialogue. The first half of the chapter is full of description, then it suddenly turns "talking heads." Have to fix that, but not right now as it gets at least what I want accomplished out of the way.
Well, rewriting doesn't have to be that gruesome, or more exactly - you can rewrite, you don't have to do it like me and trash everything and start from scratch. Sometimes it can be just as good to jot down what you want to happen just to get a feeling for it and then you can rearrange the text to say the same thing in a better way... Writing is a neverending story!
I've never been particulary good at rewriting / editing. Something I have to learn how to do and actually spend time on / pay attention to.
I will definitely need at least one set of eyes just to "vet" the timeline and make sure there are no glaring inconsistencies or contradictions. I think there may be one already but as I like what I set up, I think the early version of that fact will have to be rewritten to fit the new resolution.
