1. I joined getyourwordsout and pledged 200k for the year.  So that means I've made a resolution to write more in 2009, with the goal of finishing "Ambergrin Hall" (the mystery-thriller) and the 2008 NaNo book, "Christmas Ghosts," and try to write more fiction for STAPA and finish up a few of my lingering short stories.

2. I'm still maintaining 365shortstories so I once again

Resolutions, To-Do Lists...are they really all that different?

I might have to follow your lead and attempt to write 200k this year, myself. It'd be a good motivator, if nothing else!

A lot of the people in that writing community are working on various fanfics and such. I feel sort of like the odd man out because I'm not writing about existing pop culture characters ....

I'm thinking of focusing on original fiction first, though I do have a few fanfic concepts I wouldn't mind working on on the side (especially since the original fiction project I want to work on doesn't need 200k - at least as far as I can tell at the moment).

This is the internet. You're always the odd man out somewhere, and the perfect person somewhere else. That's why I love it so.

Yeah, I'm working on completing my second Christmas book and my mystery-thriller, neither of which needs 200k on its own as far as I can tell.
