Watched this on dvd the other morning in my sickbed. The two gay leads were very nice, I must say, and there were some lovely scenes with them. I love how Italian families seem to be; although I'm sure it must be quite stifling at times, they are wonderfully family-oriented. The sister was great, and her reaction upon finding the lads together

I suspect I'm going to get educated on films with gay protagonists by watching your reviews. Which is very good, since I have almost no idea as to what's out there, and what's worth watching!

Oh, I am pleased! I'm an avid gay-movie aficionado, so as we go along you are going to see rather a lot of things you may find interesting. I may have to depend on you to point out any more lesbian-oriented for other watchers, but I'm sure you won't mind too much!

And don't read too much into my reviews; I'm not exactly erudite or literary in style! I just go with what I like! ;-)

Goody! I actually don't know a lot about lesbian films, since I'm really more into the action/adventure genre, and as we both know, it's hard to find good gay/les characters there. *rolls eyes* I am planning to read some lesbian fiction rec'd to me by friends, though, so if you want someone to review that, I'd be glad to.

LOL, I don't think reviews have to be literary. Half the fun, often, is being anything but. :)

Excellent! Review away! And yes, action/adventure... God, what I wouldn't give for more rollicking good adventures set in some wonderful place where people could love whoever they wanted and it was all perfectly normal. And feel free to review any you find! HA! Or just... you know... ordinary alternative world/action/adventure movies with no queer content too, if you like!

Oh, glad to have you here! Do join if you feel so inclined! Anyone who enjoyed Mambo Italiano is welcome here! I also very much liked the parts you pointed out - it was the whole family relationship I loved especially - that no matter how much they argued, they all clearly cared for each other very much.

Thank you for pointing out the lesbian movie - I don't tend to watch them generally, but please do feel free to review any you feel are worth watching! ;-) I'm very much a slasher and adore my m/m movies, but don't let that stop you sharing lesbian-oriented films with us!

I have a whole life's worth of gay/slashy movies in my background, having watched out for the m/m since I was about 14... and believe me, I'm a tad older than you (understatement of the year!) so there are quite a number. As time goes on, I hope to review some of my older favourites, but that probably won't happen for a while.
