So apparently I've graduated from Vassar. Somehow I finished the thesis with relative success, and a few of the things I thought were issues I guess I solved adequately before submission. Still don't have grades for other final assignments, but I'm going to assume that they turned out fine. I'm still here at Vassar for a few weeks doing research ( Read more... )

Thesis draft DONE! Well, not done, actually, just submitted on Friday in whatever state it had achieved by then. I'd say about a third of it, if not more, was super-organized notes but not actually my writing. Oh, and it was 61 pages instead of 40... This weekend I went further south than I had ever been on this side of the Mississippi River. My mother and I made the trip down to Williamsburg, VA to check out William & Mary. Deciding between UConn and W&M is going to be a lot harder than I thought. Both departments are VERY strong in early American history. Both departments, however, have their chronological focus more in the colonial/Revolutionary/early Republic periods, rather than the Jacksonian/antebellum stuff I like best.
