I recommend power tools by Dewalt. As for drills, I always prefer a drill with a cord, as without a cord you spend your entire life recharging the damn thing, plus it never has power when you need it or else runs out before you are done. If you are concerned, buy an extension cord.
Congratulations on the new habitation! A couple of thoughts: I don't know if the landlady would approve, but you could hang a new TV on the wall, that way it takes up much less room and there is no need for a new piece of furniture.
As for drills, we have a cordless Makita that we like very much.
Let us know when the furniture schlepping needs to happen and maybe one of us can come (prolly Matthew as he is bigger and stronger ).
Oh, and do come on over and check out our squeezebox radio, it's a nice wireless music setup and you can cuddle the baby :).
I have a TV mount but that would be very much the wrong height. Having some kind of low TV table is actually just about right (and indeed I spec'd one at IKEA that looks like it will be just the thing, for pretty darn cheap).
I think I can rejoin the living sometime in April, and I would love to come by and see the little lad!
