Same here. Wynne + Zev = lulz. I also respecced Ali to two handed weapons 'cause I always like to have one in my party and couldn't bear to leave him behind. (Both my rogue and warrior ended up as dual weilding DPSers.)
If I'm not doing anything serious I also like to bring Oghren along.
Well, lately I've been going for 'unconventional' parties. If I'm about to head into a battle that's just plain annoying like Gakgax (sp?) or a Revenant, I go for the trusty tank/mage/melee/healer combo and just get it over with.
If it's a challenging battle, I prefer to use a party that is a little less overpowered. It's just more fun that way and you get to discover little tricks and combos you wouldn't have thought of. For example, in Fort Drakon I realized just how useful a Bard's final song is. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't reached that part yet, but I enjoyed that battle immensely when I finally beat it with slightly underdeveloped chars.
To answer your question, my fav combo includes a mage and a rogue, just because I love the 'shattering' spell combination xD Not really bothered what the other two members will be.
Is that if you wait to be rescued? I just can't bring myself to do that... but Leliana's comment when she meets us near the bottom makes me want to try it next time.
Hmm. When Alistair is spec'd right he's an awesome tank, so he's always with me. Really, because he's a good tank.
I find Wynne invaluable and I find that I can't switch her out as often as I'd like, so she's with me most of the time. Oghren or Shale usually take up my other slot.
With my mage, I always take Leliana to open locks, Alistair as a hit point cow, and switch up the fourth slot between various characters, depending on where I'm going and what I'm doing. I rarely take Morrigan and Wynne, though--I never do well with two mages.
On my rogue, I always have Alistair, Wynne or Morrigan, and then change up the fourth slot.
You'll find Wynne a lot more fun if Zevran is in the party. Their banter is quite funny. I generally take Wynne, Zevran and Sten. It used to be Alistair, Wynne and Sten, but I've crossed over to team Zevran. :D
