I am always so impressed with Gackt's need and desire to fully express his Moon concept. In general, he never releases anything without meaning or reason, and he never puts out any throw-aways. When it comes to the Moon project, it is especially impressive because the story is just so huge.

Your note is missing!!! I was trying to figure out this answer, since in the previous answer he said these songs are from the third part, but 1200 to current time is actually both the second and third parts, right?

The characters in “BLACK STONE” and “Ash” are the same but they are from different time periods. One is before (lit. earlier than) year 1600 and the other story is after year 1600.BLACK STONE is from the 1200 to 1600 period, and Ash is from 1600 to present time, right? In any case, he did seem to mean that these songs cover both the second and third time periods. I always thought

Yes, he can really follow through with one concept very well. The visions he sees are just amazing. Which is what's great about Gackt's works. You know there is something deeper than the surface, and I agree with Tanaka-san very much, that his songs leaves us to our own imagination. He not only creates what "MOON" is to him, but at the same time also allows others to find what their own "MOON" is. Brilliant.

Sugoi!!! That really is the longest comment ever!! But yeah, you should definitely post up a complete Moon discussion after this translation. That would be awesome! We all have our own opinions on what Moon means to us, and it'd be nice to share. Pure speculation, but still fun to do. ^^

Very true. I think it was in the Tomino and Gackt talk where Gackt says he doesn't create these songs and stories to present them to us like "this is how the world is". He presents them to us and asks "what do you guys think?" Like you said, brilliant.

Which is why I wanted to do this B=Pass translation bad. I hope to revise people's opinion of "MOON" and show them that there really is a whole lot more to "MOON PROJECT" than what it seems. I really hope that when he thinks he's done with getting the Moon stuff out through song and dance and movies and video games and manga and ice cream flavours and whatever else he comes up with, either he or someone else puts it all together into some sort of coherent story... Otherwise I'm going to remain completely lost *snicker*.

I think I can kind of understand why he's jumping around in time so much, I know that when I have a story in my mind I don't want to write it in chronological order, I want to write whatever part I feel like writing at the time (Not that I write much these days *glare schoolwork*). I've always thought of it as a bad habit, though, because there are always going to be bits which I don't want to write at all and if I write all the good bits first then I won't have any incentive to write the boring bits... So I hope he doesn't have any boring bits in his story! ^_^

Ahahahahaha... Well the fun in "MOON" lies in the fact that it is open to so many interpretations. There is a story of "MOON" in each of us. ^^ So, what is "MOON" to you? I hope to discover this when he is done with the project.

Yeah~~ Not like Gackt at all to so things in chronological order. Besides osme of the ideas came to him as he is working on some particular stories, so it just grows on and on and gets bigger and bigger :0 Hahaha, I don't think there will be anything boring about this at all~~ I trust Gackt-san explicitly~ ^.~

Although I am really wondering now if Ash/Black Stone are part of Moon or Darts...I think I am leaning more towards Moon...*a little lost* This is going to take way more thinking and investigation to figure out methinks. ^_^

And me agrees! Well, if "MOON" was already over, logically this should be "Darts", but....... And "MOON" was set near the current time-future time right? So BS and "Ash" are most likely part of "Darts"

And you know, the more I think about this whole concept the more I am thinking it may be Luka's story most of the time (as sweiled had mentioned) with Sho and the others mixed in here and there--maybe *that* is the angle we should be looking at.Yes, I think so too. Sho is definitely not the main character here, only in Moon Child. I used to think he was the main character... Maybe Kei, because we don't really know exactly when he was turned into a vampire... *ponders
