Thanks for the translation and great job as always!!

I am always so impressed with Gackt's need and desire to fully express his Moon concept. In general, he never releases anything without meaning or reason, and he never puts out any throw-aways. When it comes to the Moon project, it is especially impressive because the story is just so huge.

I: The one from year 1600 to our current time?
G: No, from year 1200 to our current time. [1]

Your note is missing!!! I was trying to figure out this answer, since in the previous answer he said these songs are from the third part, but 1200 to current time is actually both the second and third parts, right?

The characters in “BLACK STONE” and “Ash” are the same but they are from different time periods. One is before (lit. earlier than) year 1600 and the other story is after year 1600.BLACK STONE is from the 1200 to 1600 period, and Ash is from 1600 to present time, right? In any case, he did seem to mean that these songs cover both the second and third time periods. I always thought ( ... )

Back. :D Thank you sweetie~~ ~.~ And you are most welcome!! XD

Yes, he can really follow through with one concept very well. The visions he sees are just amazing. Which is what's great about Gackt's works. You know there is something deeper than the surface, and I agree with Tanaka-san very much, that his songs leaves us to our own imagination. He not only creates what "MOON" is to him, but at the same time also allows others to find what their own "MOON" is. Brilliant.

Hahaha, and gomen again! ^^" Sometimes I would get too into the translations that I forget about the notes meant for it. ^^" Gomen gomen. And you are right about it being 2nd part and 3rd part. I've added some comments regarding that too... ^^"

Sugoi!!! That really is the longest comment ever!! But yeah, you should definitely post up a complete Moon discussion after this translation. That would be awesome! We all have our own opinions on what Moon means to us, and it'd be nice to share. Pure speculation, but still fun to do. ^^

He not only creates what "MOON" is to him, but at the same time also allows others to find what their own "MOON" is.

Very true. I think it was in the Tomino and Gackt talk where Gackt says he doesn't create these songs and stories to present them to us like "this is how the world is". He presents them to us and asks "what do you guys think?" Like you said, brilliant.

BS: main character singing about friend's death
Ash: character 'foreseeing' own deathMy interpretation of Ash came before I read this and found out how it tied to BLACK STONE. I thought in Ash, he was foreseeing his death, but that the person he talks about was still living in his "present". If that person already died in the time of BLACK STONE, it didn't fit into my ( ... )

Oh yeah~~ That will be mighty great indeed! :D Can't wait. *rubs hands gleefully*

I thought in Ash, he was foreseeing his death, but that the person he talks about was still living in his "present".

iie, wakaru yo! But I see. Well in my mind, the peron he saw amidst the heat haze was already gone/passed away. That is the impression I got from "Ash". And no no, it's open to interpretation. Because it could be that he is singing about another person in "Ash", different from the person who passed away in BS. So there could be 3 characters... The one that he saw and imagining happy times with could be someone else. SO that interpretation is still valid. :D

But these 3 songs are actually still part of the overall MOON PROJECT, right? And they are not a part of Darts? I mean, we are just seeing the part of Moon Project he hasn't shown us yet.Hmm? Gomen, chotto ( ... )

Yes, yes that's still possible! It makes a better story if the person who passed away is the same as the person he's singing about in Ash, but then my theory goes down the drain. ^^ But thanks for that!

In my mind, there is like the story "MOON" in "MOON PROJECT" and then the new concept ("Darts") in "MOON PROJECT". I've named the main story "MOON PROJECT", so "MOON" and "Darts" are like... the chapters. That's how it works in my mind anyway.

Naruhodo, naruhodo. Yeah, see, I always thought of MOON PROJECT being the same thing as "Moon", and "Darts" being a completely different story altogether from MOON PROJECT. I think it's because he's said he has two stories inside him, one is Moon and one is Darts. BUT, I really love your way of thinking about it. In that case, MOON PROJECT really is his life work, isn't it?

Unless this new concept he had in mind was not "Darts" but ( ... )

Ahahaha, I know what you mean. In my mind previously, there were only 2 characters in his songs. But that is a rather narrow-minded way of looking at it and quite unlike Gackt-san as well. And "MOON PROJECT" could not have sustained with only 2 characters right? :D This thinking only came to me as I was typing out that comment. See, discussions are good~~~ Helps stimulate your brain. XD

I always thought of MOON PROJECT being the same thing as "Moon", and "Darts" being a completely different story altogether from MOON PROJECT.

Actually, my theory is rather unfounded, because they didn't use a specific pattern during the interview. Like, using the word "MOON" or "MOON PROJECT" in specific times. But that's just the feeling I get. :D And also because he talked about all that 4 parts and that "MOON" was only the last of 4th chapter. So.......

I didn't think these three songs were actually ( ... )

Yes it's so true!! I am loving this discussion too. ^^ But maybe we should save some for your next post and the big Moon discussion. :D Or maybe I'll just shut up for a while so you don't have to hear me talking my nonesense!! hahaha...

But that's just the feeling I get. :D And also because he talked about all that 4 parts and that "MOON" was only the last of 4th chapter. So.......

Yeah, even if it's unfounded, it makes a LOT of sense, and I like how you put it together.

*opens door and wait for you* There is really this strong urge to pick up the phone and talk about it right then and there, eh? XD

And then watch the insane phone bills piling up!!

Have you read the novel? MOON CHILD 鎮魂歌 “レクイエム” 篇 No I haven't but I want to!!! I think it'd be hard to read a whole novel in Japanese. ^^" But you're doing it! Oh, someone just posted on Dears a translation of the interview portion of it, and I guess she will be translating the rest of it...so maybe I don't have to ( ... )

His novel is actually quite easy to understand. Just that he uses a lot of non-existent vocabulary~~ >.>;; So you have to use dictionary a lot to understand it. ^^

Oh, someone just posted on Dears a translation of the interview portion of it,

Uso~~~ *goes to check*

Hontou da~~~~ :D I was thinking of doing that some day, but I guess it's unneccessary~~ I can stick to my magazines... :D Sugoi~~ *goes to read*

His novel is actually quite easy to understand.

I'll definitely try to read it! But it will probably take me months and months to finish. ^^ Have you read Jihaku? I only read the translations but I want to read the original, because I want to hear his own words.

I was hoping you'd translate the Moon Child novel! You can still do it, since she's working off the Chinese version and that may be different... But yeah, you are so busy anyway with the mags...

Hahaha... Yeah~~ Hmmz, I aim to finish mine during the 2 weeks holiday~ I'll finish it even if it means I have to hole myself up in my room for that entire period!! XD

Ahh~~ I have not read Jihaku too~~ Because I've read the translations >.>;; but I'll get around to doing that when I have more time. But first, MOON CHILD novel! XD

Hahahahaha... I already have so many things I plan to translate. There's the recent magazines to keep up with, and then a couple of TV clips, other old magazines... And I promised elise_maxwell that I'll help her translate some You stuff... And I also did say that I might do the R&R tour book to kohala (Unless you want to do the honour, Jeanne? Since you did "GifT" after all :D) XD ( ... )

I would LOVE to do it! But, I don't even have it, hahahaha!! So you can go ahead. ^^ Maybe I will do some other tourbook.....I don't have any besides The Gift, but I want to get them all eventually.

I might do the novel sometime in the future since I just realized that she is doing a re-translations... =/

Please do!! I think there would be differences in doing it from the Chinese translations....... Maybe I can finish reading it before you get your version done, too. ^^

And I thought it might seem rude to do a translation of it again?

No, I don't think it's rude because you will be doing it from the original text. And it's never bad to have more than one translated version. But yeah, now that someone's doing it, you can concentrate on other things and put it on the bottom of that long list for now!!

You guys think so highly of me... -___-"Because you're so good at it! By ( ... )

Ahahahahhaa.. soudesuka? ^^" Jaa, *include in long list* XD

Maybe I can finish reading it before you get your version done, too. ^^

Oh, you'll definitely fiinsh it before I put up mine (if ever) ^^" someday~~~

You always do a good job, but this one for some reason was so smooth to read.

Oh gosh, this one almost made me cry~~ ;;_____;; So happy~~!! Now I feel the pressure to keep up with the standard for the next translations. Demo, ganbarimasu!! :D And yeah, I'm starting to switch a bit of the sentences around instead of following it exactly in the order it was spoken/written... So, that could be the reason... ^^" Hai!! Ganbarimasu~~!! Faito~~!!
