Sugoi!!! That really is the longest comment ever!! But yeah, you should definitely post up a complete Moon discussion after this translation. That would be awesome! We all have our own opinions on what Moon means to us, and it'd be nice to share. Pure speculation, but still fun to do. ^^

He not only creates what "MOON" is to him, but at the same time also allows others to find what their own "MOON" is.

Very true. I think it was in the Tomino and Gackt talk where Gackt says he doesn't create these songs and stories to present them to us like "this is how the world is". He presents them to us and asks "what do you guys think?" Like you said, brilliant.

BS: main character singing about friend's death
Ash: character 'foreseeing' own death

My interpretation of Ash came before I read this and found out how it tied to BLACK STONE. I thought in Ash, he was foreseeing his death, but that the person he talks about was still living in his "present". If that person already died in the time of BLACK STONE, it didn't fit into my interpretation because that person should still be alive during the "present" time of Ash. setsumei suru no wa muzukashii desu ne~~ Anyway, that doesn't matter anymore since it's a wrong interpretation. ^^"

Well this is a whole different story from "MOON" of the "MOON PROJECT" though both are linked somehow. "MOON" is from the near future while this new concept ("Darts") dates way earlier.

But these 3 songs are actually still part of the overall MOON PROJECT, right? And they are not a part of Darts? I mean, we are just seeing the part of Moon Project he hasn't shown us yet.

"MOON" is from the near future while this new concept ("Darts") dates way earlier. A prequel you can say?

Right! It's the Star Wars thing. ^^" In the Gift tourbook interview he did say he wanted Darts to be a sequel to Moon, and that it was about a group of people from the past, but set in the near future. o_o

Or it could even be that these new stories are about someone like Luca? As in someone immortal........

*nods* If there's anyone that could span all the different time periods and link the stories together, it would have to be an immortal...

How can anyone say "MOON" is boring!!??

Wakarimasen. ^^

Gomen for the extremely long comment... ^^"

Hahaha! ii desu yo~~ As you always say, bring it on!!

Now go watch Hey3 and relax!!!!

Ahahaha, bikurishichatta da yo ne, kitto~~ ^^"

We all have our own opinions on what Moon means to us, and it'd be nice to share. Pure speculation, but still fun to do. ^^

Oh yeah~~ That will be mighty great indeed! :D Can't wait. *rubs hands gleefully*

I thought in Ash, he was foreseeing his death, but that the person he talks about was still living in his "present".

iie, wakaru yo! But I see. Well in my mind, the peron he saw amidst the heat haze was already gone/passed away. That is the impression I got from "Ash". And no no, it's open to interpretation. Because it could be that he is singing about another person in "Ash", different from the person who passed away in BS. So there could be 3 characters... The one that he saw and imagining happy times with could be someone else. SO that interpretation is still valid. :D

But these 3 songs are actually still part of the overall MOON PROJECT, right? And they are not a part of Darts? I mean, we are just seeing the part of Moon Project he hasn't shown us yet.

Hmm? Gomen, chotto wakaranaindesuga... ^^" In my mind, there is like the story "MOON" in "MOON PROJECT" and then the new concept ("Darts") in "MOON PROJECT". I've named the main story "MOON PROJECT", so "MOON" and "Darts" are like... the chapters. That's how it works in my mind anyway. ^^"

In the Gift tourbook interview he did say he wanted Darts to be a sequel to Moon, that it was about a group of people from the past, but set in the near future.

Hmmz, now that doesn't quite make sense. Unless this new concept he had in mind was not "Darts" but something else. Could it be that he has put it on hold? But wait, it can work! ......He could be singing about the story that happened in the past just that they are currently in the near future time. So if going by the logic that they are immortal... that is possible right? Maybe he is trying to tell us what happened to the character when he was on the year 1600... So 1600 is the "past" and the near future is the "present"... Something like that...

Erm, Am I confusing you or anyone even more? >.>;;

And gomen for writing the comments twice, some edits.. ^^"

Yes, yes that's still possible! It makes a better story if the person who passed away is the same as the person he's singing about in Ash, but then my theory goes down the drain. ^^ But thanks for that!

In my mind, there is like the story "MOON" in "MOON PROJECT" and then the new concept ("Darts") in "MOON PROJECT". I've named the main story "MOON PROJECT", so "MOON" and "Darts" are like... the chapters. That's how it works in my mind anyway.

Naruhodo, naruhodo. Yeah, see, I always thought of MOON PROJECT being the same thing as "Moon", and "Darts" being a completely different story altogether from MOON PROJECT. I think it's because he's said he has two stories inside him, one is Moon and one is Darts. BUT, I really love your way of thinking about it. In that case, MOON PROJECT really is his life work, isn't it?

Unless this new concept he had in mind was not "Darts" but something else. Could it be that he has put it on hold?

This is what I thought when I first read the interview, that he was putting Darts on hold and going back to the MOON PROJECT to show a bit more of that.... I didn't think these three songs were actually part of either Moon or Darts, but was a different part of the MOON PROJECT altogether. Gah, can I just come over to your house and we can talk about it? That'd be so much easier!! ^^" How long is the flight from Cali to Singapore?...

He could be singing about the story that happened in the past just that they are currently in the near future time. So if going by the logic that they are immortal... that is possible right?

I LOVE THAT! Yes, it's very possible, and the perfect way to link everything together.

Ahahaha, I know what you mean. In my mind previously, there were only 2 characters in his songs. But that is a rather narrow-minded way of looking at it and quite unlike Gackt-san as well. And "MOON PROJECT" could not have sustained with only 2 characters right? :D This thinking only came to me as I was typing out that comment. See, discussions are good~~~ Helps stimulate your brain. XD

I always thought of MOON PROJECT being the same thing as "Moon", and "Darts" being a completely different story altogether from MOON PROJECT.

Actually, my theory is rather unfounded, because they didn't use a specific pattern during the interview. Like, using the word "MOON" or "MOON PROJECT" in specific times. But that's just the feeling I get. :D And also because he talked about all that 4 parts and that "MOON" was only the last of 4th chapter. So.......

I didn't think these three songs were actually part of either Moon or Darts, but was a different part of the MOON PROJECT altogether.

Yeah, this is the 2nd time someone told me that already. (Check Tarogirl's comment) It's not altogether an impossible way of looking at it.

Gah, can I just come over to your house and we can talk about it? That'd be so much easier!! ^^" How long is the flight from Cali to Singapore?...

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! *opens door and wait for you* There is really this strong urge to pick up the phone and talk about it right then and there, eh? XD

Have you read the novel? MOON CHILD 鎮魂歌 “レクイエム” 篇 I haven't read it all yet myself, just a few chapters. But the strong link and consistent 'thing' about "MOON" is that there will be a strong character. Physically. Someone inhuman, you can say? Like, Kei, Luca and even Sho... Which is why that thought suddenly came across my mind. *ponders*

Yes it's so true!! I am loving this discussion too. ^^ But maybe we should save some for your next post and the big Moon discussion. :D Or maybe I'll just shut up for a while so you don't have to hear me talking my nonesense!! hahaha...

But that's just the feeling I get. :D And also because he talked about all that 4 parts and that "MOON" was only the last of 4th chapter. So.......

Yeah, even if it's unfounded, it makes a LOT of sense, and I like how you put it together.

*opens door and wait for you* There is really this strong urge to pick up the phone and talk about it right then and there, eh? XD

And then watch the insane phone bills piling up!!

Have you read the novel? MOON CHILD 鎮魂歌 “レクイエム” 篇

No I haven't but I want to!!! I think it'd be hard to read a whole novel in Japanese. ^^" But you're doing it! Oh, someone just posted on Dears a translation of the interview portion of it, and I guess she will be translating the rest of it...so maybe I don't have to read it after all??

Ahahaha... Yes, I think we should... XD

His novel is actually quite easy to understand. Just that he uses a lot of non-existent vocabulary~~ >.>;; So you have to use dictionary a lot to understand it. ^^

Oh, someone just posted on Dears a translation of the interview portion of it,

Uso~~~ *goes to check*

Hontou da~~~~ :D I was thinking of doing that some day, but I guess it's unneccessary~~ I can stick to my magazines... :D Sugoi~~ *goes to read*

His novel is actually quite easy to understand.

I'll definitely try to read it! But it will probably take me months and months to finish. ^^ Have you read Jihaku? I only read the translations but I want to read the original, because I want to hear his own words.

I was hoping you'd translate the Moon Child novel! You can still do it, since she's working off the Chinese version and that may be different... But yeah, you are so busy anyway with the mags...

Hahaha... Yeah~~ Hmmz, I aim to finish mine during the 2 weeks holiday~ I'll finish it even if it means I have to hole myself up in my room for that entire period!! XD

Ahh~~ I have not read Jihaku too~~ Because I've read the translations >.>;; but I'll get around to doing that when I have more time. But first, MOON CHILD novel! XD

Hahahahaha... I already have so many things I plan to translate. There's the recent magazines to keep up with, and then a couple of TV clips, other old magazines... And I promised elise_maxwell that I'll help her translate some You stuff... And I also did say that I might do the R&R tour book to kohala (Unless you want to do the honour, Jeanne? Since you did "GifT" after all :D) XD

Yaaa~~ I'm so greedy~~ XD Well, at least I hope to finish the mags stuff and tv clips before I go back. ^^ And maybe the You stuff too. Then when I come back, I can continue with the mags (assuming he'll be on some other cover by then ^^")

I might do the novel sometime in the future since I just realized that she is doing a re-translations... =/ (My other friend, crescent_cross was just telling me the same thing. You guys think so highly of me... -___-") I just bought the Chinese version by the way... Didn't even know they had it previously!! *O* But the novel is at the bottom of my list of translations to do for now~~ ^^" And I thought it might seem rude to do a translation of it again? Especially since she just started doing it. -__-;;

I would LOVE to do it! But, I don't even have it, hahahaha!! So you can go ahead. ^^ Maybe I will do some other tourbook.....I don't have any besides The Gift, but I want to get them all eventually.

I might do the novel sometime in the future since I just realized that she is doing a re-translations... =/

Please do!! I think there would be differences in doing it from the Chinese translations....... Maybe I can finish reading it before you get your version done, too. ^^

And I thought it might seem rude to do a translation of it again?

No, I don't think it's rude because you will be doing it from the original text. And it's never bad to have more than one translated version. But yeah, now that someone's doing it, you can concentrate on other things and put it on the bottom of that long list for now!!

You guys think so highly of me... -___-"

Because you're so good at it! By the way, this latest translation you did, the B=Pass one, I thought was the best translation yet! You always do a good job, but this one for some reason was so smooth to read. I think you're getting really good at having very clean notes, which is great. Keep it up!!!

Ahahahahhaa.. soudesuka? ^^" Jaa, *include in long list* XD

Maybe I can finish reading it before you get your version done, too. ^^

Oh, you'll definitely fiinsh it before I put up mine (if ever) ^^" someday~~~

You always do a good job, but this one for some reason was so smooth to read.

Oh gosh, this one almost made me cry~~ ;;_____;; So happy~~!! Now I feel the pressure to keep up with the standard for the next translations. Demo, ganbarimasu!! :D And yeah, I'm starting to switch a bit of the sentences around instead of following it exactly in the order it was spoken/written... So, that could be the reason... ^^" Hai!! Ganbarimasu~~!! Faito~~!!
