Anyone who's a member of OWLBLOT please to be giving me YOUR opinions on this. I don't really see what the big problem is, especially on owlblot since the stream of incoming fic/art/ect was good quality, interesting and relevant. Really - I ( Read more... )

Seems like private wank to me.. Why it has lead to the community being basically stopped for now is beyond me lol.

I for one want to know what her co-mods think of this.

Seems passive aggressive as heck to me.

Brrr. I know nothing of the situation but I suspect that someone is talking shit behind the mod's back on some other community? Though I don't know if stopping posting entirely is a good move to make...

Every fandom has its drama, eh? Even Rorschach/Nite Owl fans apparently. But this is all irrelevant since this is blocking the flow of precious R/N fanfics and fanart from my computer D:

The stop will leave a bad taste in people's mouth and developmentally will hamper community growth.

Yeah. Not to mention that watchmenkink hasn't been updated by its creator for two weeks. It seems that all the Watchmen LJ communities have been having slowdowns or trolls or dramaz lately =(

Yeah that's a shame :( Since this fandom has epic potential for enormous awesomeness.

Investigation as of yet inconclusive.

Ha, I did the same thing.

Only thing I can think of is that I remember someone on watchmen_slash mentioning owlblot not accepting her posts. When they DID accept one she was confronted about it in the comments. So yeah, probably personal wank finally coming to the forefront.

so...let me get this straight:

someone is butthurt about not being accepted and then goes and posts about it, and then the mod is butthurt about people complaining about her modding, and so closes down not one, but three communities?

man there are a lot of sore asses up in here.

Yeah, the mod did an edit of her original message, in which she scolds the people who don't "get" the point of her post. I don't see why she can't just come right up and say "OK, it has come to my attention that people are having problems with the site, blah blah blah", instead of making a half-cryptic post about certain people "being heard".

It's great that we have "lj user="owlblot"> and great that the mod created it for us but I just wish personal wank wouldn't get in the way of the community!

Oh, and in case you are wondering - I am here because you applied to FYWM and I am one of the mods there.

Do you still want to join?

Yes I do :D

End of day, I just want what I joined owlblot for R/N lovin's and to see what's keeping other watchfans awake at night ;)

So this includes insulting me before the end of the day?

Just curious.

Well I just thought it was kinda heavy handed - that's my two cents - sorry if it came out insulting. Just wondering why the communities had to come to such a screeching halt - I understand that you wanted to get people's attention - though it's left quite a few more confused.

Regardless of why it was done, I still think that prohibiting posting indefinitely only to ask people (and that was the original message the people got) what they think about the community or whatever is completely unnecessary. People who start communities are expected to run them fairly and reasonably despite the fact they lord over everyone ( ... )
