I was going to pass this prompt by, and then I got hit in the middle of the forehead with an idea. I don't think it's quite what you wanted, but I hope you enjoy anyway

The clink of glasses sounded quietly throughout the bar as she worked, pulling them from the dish rack and quickly stacking for easy access by the bartenders. It was approaching late in the morning, an hour or so before they would open for the lunchtime crowd, and other than the boss she was the only one in

Loose brown curls slid across Alicia's shoulders as she shook her head. "No, don't apologize! I can understand. Weird drunk girl in the alley gives you her number, probably best to just play along." Her smile turned wry, and she rolled her eyes. "God, I wouldn't have called me."
Kalinda can't help but let her lips twitch up in response. "You did seem to have had a lot to drink," she said in amusement.
Another eye roll. "It's all Tracy's fault. And Benjamin's. And pretty much my entire litigation class." She gave a sigh. "I swear, I don't understand why they insist on corrupting me, when I'm probably more corrupted than they are."
"Excuse me," came suddenly from behind them, and the two turned to see a very irritated man standing there with his arms crossed. "The teller is open, are you going to move

"Oh my god, I'm sorry," Alicia said, having realized how her words must have sounded. "I didn't mean to offend or anything, it's just-" She sighed. "I have no real respect for myself for my accomplishments. I feel like I haven't earned them. You, on the other hand, obviously have

OK, now you have to go on, because I want to know what happens next! :-) Young Alicia seems so smitten and I really love the awkward way they interact because of their different personalities during this first daylight meeting: you pinpointed quite well how Alicia is open and naïve and Kalinda is wary and more mature, still they can’t help enjoying each other’s company straight away. Guess they both have a lot to learn from each other!

Haha I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think their relationship really is awkward, since they don't have the help of working together to force them to become friends. I have continued, posted on the main comm, although I'm not willing to promise more than the next bit. Hope it helps!

Oh, please continue this! Baby Alicia and baby Kalinda...it has all this awesome potential that I can't stop myself from wanting more, so much more!
even if she couldn't decide if Alicia was taking her on as a charity case, or vice versa.
This is my favorite line in this fiction and it's the perfect line to describe their relationship, even in canon. They are both so messed up and they need each other so much and they complete each other, whether you want to see them as just friends or something more, that indeed...you can never tell who's the "charity case"

I'm really glad you liked that line, I feel it is so true for their relationship. In the show, especially the first season, it seems like it's always Kalinda who is helping Alicia, but at the same time Alicia obviously provides something that Kalinda needs. She appreciates Kalinda, doesn't objectify her, and is easy in her company. She gives Kalinda true friendship, something Kalinda sorely needed I think. They need each other, really ^.^
I have continued it, although just a bit - I make no promises beyond each individual installment. It's on the main comm.
I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Thanks for reading ^.^

FINALLY got to this, and YES, all I want to do is see what these two get into with each other. This is a great interpretation of Alicia-before-the-fall -- sweet, unguarded. Of course, even cynical Leela/Kalinda can't resist. Can't now, couldn't then. :) Are you planning on writing any more?? Loving this universe!

I'm glad you liked it! This was not the direction I kept taking it in - originally I was going SUPER ANGST, but it was driving me crazy because I don't want that for them! So... a trip to the bank. I dunno. Haha. I'm glad you liked it! Thank you again for the prompt ^.^
