Long slow week

Jul 16, 2009 16:37

Not much has gone on this week.  Went to the movies with the kids yesterday; saw The Spiderwick Chronicles.  Now I want to read the books, or at least get them for my son ( Read more... )

computer, books, stuff, yardwork, stamping, boring day stuff, knitting

Yay for getting the lawn cut. Have just done ours: tried to find reasons not to.
Ours has lots of non grass plants in it: some like the daffodils and tulips have been planted, and are long since gone. The Daisies, Dandelions, white clover and self heal(a lovely littlepurple flower) and germander speedwell are for the most part welcome guests in their season...would like to get rid of the moss though...at the moment the self heal and the white clover are in full blossom, and I tired to persuade mysself it would be a kindness to the bees to leave the clover a little longer for their sakes...but then the weather forecaste of two wets days(today just gone) and tomorrow as being very wet, and the thought that on Saturday we go on holiday for a fortnight managed to persuade me that clover or no clover, bees or no bees, it just had to be cut
and so it was...looks quite good at the moment though I say it myself.

I would like more plants, I just don't take care of them well.

I am really appreciating the high gas mileage. Zooey is 12y.o. too! :D She has some other minor repairs but I am putting them off. I just wanted to get those out of the way before they caused major problems.

I love the knitting. I want to try new things but am still wary of trying new things, even though once I do I see how easy it is. I am also loosing up my stitches so it doesn't make my hands so stiff.
