Rain rain go away

My sweet baby James stood decked out in his soccer uniform for 45 minutes on our front porch singing that song just waiting for the rain to let up enough so he could go to his very first soccer practice ever ( Read more... )

Aww! I'm glad that the coach actually worked with him.
My mom wouldn't ever let us play games if it was raining. I don't remember if she let us go to practice or not if it was raining. But games, nope. Too dangerous.

I hope that this coach works out for you this time since you said you had him before and didn't like him much.

I am too, and surprised, I expected his to play with him a few minutes and send him home.

They can play out in the rain all they like, as long as it's not thundering and lightening. I think playing in the rain is fun. We go out and play in the rain and jump in puddles often, it's a good way to cool off on hot spring and summer afternoons.

I just didn't like his style much and he wasn't good for Thomas with Thomas' ADHD, but James is a different kid so maybe it will be different. I also didn't feel like they learned much about soccer, but hey, I guess they are only 5. He also makes a lot of it a Bible lesson, which doesn't sit well with me...

Bravissimo.
Didn't know that they played Soccer(the original) eleven a side game at least at Junior levels in the States though David Beckham, someone quite famous in Europe has just signed up for an American team.

Well with the little kids, U6 (under 6)there are only 5 kids per team, but as they get older and play on larger fields they add more players. The U6 field is much smaller than a bigger kids field. At this age they also don't have an official goal keeper, but they usually have a kid standing in front of the goal.

Yes I know who David Beckham is, He plays for the LA Galaxy I think.

And that right there is what being a parent is all about. How adorable.

Yup. It almost broke my heart listening to him sing though, wishing and hoping it would stop raining.

Kids are just too cute.

That's just so awesome. I bet James didn't even notice the rain while he was out there practicing.

Yay for the coach, and yay for James. :)

Nope, he just ran and played his little heart out! He finally realized he was wet when we got about halfway home and said "oh mommy, my soccer uniform is wet, I have to change." I told him I knew it was and he could change into something dry when we got home. He just sounded so surprised when he said it. :D

Hope life is treating you well.
