Oh yeah! I know what you mean. Like, if I inspire lust in someone, that means I'm obligated to deliver, and if I don't do what I'm SUPPOSED TO DO, I'm going to get attacked and abused. And it's very likely that the person attacking me will be unable to think of any insult he can imagine being worse than calling me ugly. As how I look is sure to be vital to my self-esteem, and I'm surely going to turn into a quivering ball of sadness and self-hate if someone tells me I'm ugly on the Internet.

One time a guy was hitting on me on OKCupid, and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but then he gave me his phone number and told me to call him, so I told him I wasn't interested in calling him because we hadn't even had a real conversation yet. His response was this:

oh wow, you sound like a really difficult person, actually from your profile i thought you were bitchy, and you can't even make up your mind which sex you like better, i would say the snobbiness won't get you far in life little missy, i'm not going to jump through ( ... )

I know two people who identify as asexual and they are one of the most attractive people I know. Actually, I used to have a crush on one of them. Why do some people find it do hard to believe that there are people who are asexual? And I have to say, you are amazingly pretty so I don't know why that guy said that. :/

I dunno what the guy was trying to prove by saying that. ::shrug:: It's statistically unlikely that everyone who's asexual is actually hideous, but I guess insisting that's the case is this guy's way of not having to think about changing his outlook on how sexuality works. Why open your mind to others' perspectives if you can just deny that theirs is real?

Thanks for the compliment.
