Reading comments by people like that is not even amusing anymore. And I agree with Lisa; I would love to see individual videos of many folks who worked on Shit People Say To Asexuals with you!

Yeah. Hilarious to think that this person actually suggested that "I'm just saying the entire lot of you are lying about your feelings because you're physically disgusting!" was a well-reasoned opinion that I needed to consider.

Okay, if all asexuals really were seriously ugly, that would not turn them asexual. In fact, if they started as sexual and just couldn't get laid, that'd probably make them constantly horny, not the other way around. Just sayin.

I know. But they're assuming asexuals are lying about being asexual--that we're just saying we're asexual because we want to save face. You know, the whole "WELL I DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT ANYWAY!" defense.

Considering how nerdy people who have no social skills and confidence issues are consistently portrayed by the media to be sexually frustrated, not happily abstinent, I really don't get the sense of this.

Yeah, that's why I called this person a troll and blocked the first time. I thought it was too ridiculous to actually be someone's opinion. Which is why they're featured on Asshole of the Day--and blocked--because it's honestly not a conversation worth having. In usual situations I do tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I'm far more likely to block quickly now than I used to be.

I'd think he was trolling from the stupidity.

"NO attractive, young, beautiful women" depends on what subjective criteria. Is he thinking like model or porn star attractive? Or like 'sex symbol' attractive? Well these things are not intrinsic qualities of a person, it involves makeup, photoshop and the way you dress. Somebody who wants to sexually attract someone might just put in more effort than someone who doesn't - an asexual. I sometimes work on looking sexually undesirable. But it's so bloody subjective that someone will always find that desirable.

Despite the whole "I'm not trolling, this is what I believe, 100%" comment, I think it was trolling too. Which is why I blocked both accounts after one response. It's not a conversation worth having.

But considering how completely ridiculous it is to claim that all asexuals must be so obscenely revolting that there's not a soul who would have sex with them, I don't have much to say. I just though the Part 2 of the troll-commenting, where the troll acted like he'd actively and unbiasedly searched for information on asexuality, was laughable. (Along with the "YOU'RE CLOSE-MINDED FOR BLOCKING MY OPINION THAT YOU'RE JUST AN UGLY BITCH" response, of course.)

Yes, the commenter was a jerk. I hope it really was a troll, but honestly, "he was just a troll" isn't a much better scenario. If this is a person who truly thinks people are only asexual if they're really really ugly, that's unfortunate. But it's also unfortunate that what goes through his mind is "HAHAHA ASEXUAL . . . I need to step in and try to HURT these people."
