Back from Michigan and. . . .

So it appears I'm back from Michigan.

WAAAAH! I DON'T WANNA BE BACK!

This was one of the best vacations I've ever had and it's all because skygawker is awesome. We're pretty much two peas in a pod, and getting to hang out with her for days on end really reminded me how much fun it is to be around someone who's so much like me. We have the world's best ( Read more... )

Looks like you guys had a wonderful vacation to me. ^___^ It is always a thrill to me to see people who are similar to each other in many ways actually becoming real life friends over the internet. After reading this post of yours, I will certainly start dreaming of the day when I can do something like this too. Takes courage and money...but I will dream of getting there! :D

Yes we definitely had a nice vacation! I have met many people from the Internet (over sixty people!) and even though I don't always hit it off with everyone, I don't usually end up meeting the ones that I don't have a reasonable expectation of liking!

The Internet just takes distance out of the equation and allows people who are willing to share to put their important aspects into text-searchable terms, so it makes it so much easier to contact and get to know people we'd have NEVER known fifty years ago!

I recommend Internet meetings heartily. Of course, you always have to watch out of the people who misrepresent themselves, but the "omg they're from the Internet they might be a killer" phenomenon is hugely exaggerated!

WAAAAH I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE BACK (IN FLORIDA) EITHER!!!

This was too short! We will have to do it again!!!

I very much enjoyed the write-up! And I'm looking at the album now. THIS IS EPIC HISTORY. I am really glad you think the anticipation was well deserved. I THINK SO TOO! :)

It's so great that you were able to hang out with people you get along with so well (and finally meet Cara)! Sounds like you had an awesome time! Hopefully you'll be able to do that again sometime!

Also, it sounds like you were having so much fun you just stayed in Michigan and didn't get to go to Canada, ha ha. Maybe next time, right? ;-)

At any rate, WELCOME BACK! Glad you had such a great trip!

I had brought my passport just in case we decided to go to Canada, but we decided not to because really it was just about saying "um, I went to Canada." We couldn't spend much time there if we were going to go. Oh well!

Yeah, that's probably best. It sucks if you go somewhere and don't have anything to say about it except, "I was there!" Maybe you'll get to go back and actually have the time to appreciate it!

Is the reason you haven't travelled to many places because you're not interested or because of other factors? Just curious. :-)

I'm not really very interested in visiting "places." I am interested in visiting people. If someone lives in a place, I am interested to see their surroundings and how the surroundings relate to them, but I also really like being home, and don't have much of an urge to travel at all. Interestingly, I like planes and travelING, but actually getting there and being in a different place isn't very attractive to me.

It was cold to me (especially at night), but there were times when it was fairly warm. Thing is, if I'm comfortable, everyone else is hot. ::sigh::

I didn't have any cheeses, no.
