So, I've been gradually feeling my fannishness return, which is NICE. And I've been finally catching up on last Summer's Rookie Blue season. I'm up to episode 5, with the Anthrax/heroin scare.
[Spoiler (click to open)]Okay, so... I just don't know what it is, but it's like... I like Nick and yet don't fancy him so much either. I like him and then... I JUST DON'T KNOW. He

I have a feeling that the stab in the heart thing might be why I kind of stopped watching. I was already feeling very non-fannish, so the prospect of a season where my ship was busted and going away from each other was... not very encouraging. I just was not up for that sort of thing. Even if I feel like OF COURSE they will find their way back, I just did feel like doing the tropey 'they find other people' thing

It was definitely a "gird your loins" type of thing for me leading up to the start of S4, but I just couldn't NOT watch. Especially after the S3 finale. I needed to know what happens

Heh, yes! I've been noticing a lot of scenes where one of the cops has some meaningful life moment that they wax on about that usually pares down to 'you have to learn to love and you will be happy!'. Followed by Sam having a thoughtful look on his face as he learns. Hahaha.
Whatever! Learn, my little ones. Learn and get back together!
I watched it as a marathon when the season was done. It was good, but the ending was a little too fast. I'm hoping this next season is paced better. :)
It IS going very quickly. Like, literally, Luke was in one episode, and I completely missed his entrance. And then he was gone again. Like, they have so much to get through that they're really smashing scenes together and cutting as much as possible. I guess it's a set-up season for this year.
I watched it all and very much enjoyed some things. And others no so much. The ending of the season felt very rushed.
Oliver still remains my favorite character. I love him. He gets some interesting stuff this season. Chloe also really grew on me. She was pretty great by the end.
I like the journey they took Andy on for the most part this season. I love where they ended up going with Tracey and there is one scene in one episode that I just love but you are not there yet!
Oh god, OLIVER. We finally meet Zoe! Only... to realize they're splitting up. Sigh. And then he meets mystical woman, and is SO VERY NERVOUS. Ahaha. He really is just the heart of the show. God forbid they ever decide to kill him off.
I watched and will watch again (though with Canada getting it a month earlier than the US, it'll be difficult to stay spoiler free :(), but didn't love it. Of course, I didn't love how they did things in season 3 either, and still watched season 4, so I'm probably not the best judge. I dunno if the show didn't connect with me on its own merits or if the fandom falloff contributed to my non-enjoyment, but it was definitely something. I didn't feel the need to re-watch any of the episodes this season or even keep them on my DVR.
But I live in hopes of the Sam/Andy endgame and even after being screwed over by other shows, I remain optimistic that I'll eventually get what I want. So I stay.
Good grief, Canada is getting it a full month earlier than the US? Sigh. It's such a pain when that happens now, no matter which way it goes. Fandom is global now, and I wish entertainment would catch on to that fact.
Yeah, I hear you. I'm enjoying it again, but I just don't feel that same rush that season 2 gave us, and season 3, really. Sigh.
Yeah, they get it back on May 19th (new promo out today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCAEPHBhdNA) and US doesn't get it until June sometime. Global's never done this before, so it's extra annoying to me, but we get 22 episodes this season, so I guess that makes it better somehow.
