Finally catching up on Rookie Blue
So, I've been gradually feeling my fannishness return, which is NICE. And I've been finally catching up on last Summer's Rookie Blue season. I'm up to episode 5, with the Anthrax/heroin scare.

Okay, so... I just don't know what it is, but it's like... I like Nick and yet don't fancy him so much either. I like him and then... I JUST DON'T KNOW. He has this Ken Doll aspect to him that I find off-putting. Maybe he should grow a beard.
I miss Jerry, and it's sad that, so far, Tracy doesn't have much to do without him.
Gail is kind of hilarious and awesome as always. I don't even mind when she gets vindictive and almost evil from time to time. It's just Gail.
Is Chris gone for good? I mean, it does make sense that people come and go, but CHRIS. :(
I was sure I was going to hate perky girl who screwed Dov in the Penny's bathroom, but she's not that bad!
I was SURE I would hate Marlo, because SAM AND ANDY. But I actually like her more than I like Sam at this point. Ahaha.
Sam is so reserved and non-demonstrative that it's hard to see his Andy-feelings under all the blank stares and Marlo-kissing. I'm sure they're there and it will be A Thing eventually again. Probably sooner than later.
I love how professional and kind of hard-ass Andy is being toward Marlo. She may not like her so much because of Sam, but she won't deny Marlo is a good cop and trustworthy. And they share a secret about the bi-polar illness now.
Andy is still holding onto a little of that awkwardness that makes her so endearing. (to me, anyway, i don't want to speak for anyone else)
I'm torn on how I feel about Sam being a detective now. It's like... I sort of miss street-cop Sam. He looks good in the jeans and T-shirt and it does make more sense to have him investigating stuff as a detective instead of over-stepping his bounds as a uniformed cop. But I miss him riding in the cars and imparting his 'wisdom', as it were.
Especially SAM AND OLIVER. WOE!
It did become startlingly obvious to me though how close the squad has become over the past few years, and how far they've come since their first day as cops, when you see how many inside jokes/unspoken communications the rookies share with the vets now. Oliver and Andy in the car, when Ollie rescued her from Marlo, and then trying to cheer her up by giving her The Talk. And clearly Oliver is a Sam/Andy shipper.
Also, McPeck. Ahahahahaha!
So, I'm thinking Nick/Andy will be coming, which... I don't know. He's fine and they clearly get along great. I kind of like him better when he's with Andy. But Gail! Just personal preference I would rather see Andy get with someone new. But whatever. I'm along for the ride anyway.
I didn't see a lot about the show last summer, so it feels like maybe the fandom fell off a bit. Did anyone watch then and is still planning on watching again this summer?
