When Mike and I went to Disney World for our anniversary I was treated to dinner at the restaurant Boma. One of the dishes Mike raved over was the "Mulligatawny". It had chicken in it, so I could not try it at the time. But he did ask one of the chefs for the recipe. It looks delicious. What is chicken base? For that matter, what is chicken stock -- is that just broth? (I understand some people will want to make these things from leftover roasting chicken bits, but I probably would usually buy broth.)

Since it is not vegetarian I just subbed it for the veggie version of this:

Plus way easier and cheaper than making your own actual stock.

You can find them at Ralph's I bet, and it looks like they have a chicken version. And yeah, the stock is just the broth. I would use both when making this recipe, it really helps make the flavor just right.
