I used to make ice cream like this all the time with just regular milk! It's amazing! Much better than any ice cream I've had.

I make ice cream like that with the kids at work sometimes, but either it doesn't freeze properly or it tastes like salt. (Sometimes both.) Like you said, you need a really sturdy bag.
