The light is mine, its rays consume me.

Good morning! Just after six am here as I write this and the glorious light of a golden sun is pouring through my front door, my lovely frosted glass door. It has filled the room with an unearthly glow. My LRVH adoration this morning was joyous, and uplifting, with a bit more “oomph” than I’ve felt in a while.

What ritual name does LRVH stand for? And which Netjeru is Ahatoor?

That reverse magpie (it really does look like reverse colouring in some ways, doesn't it? Like it starts out normal-ish on the head and then goes to pot down the track).

Could this be a butcherbird / maggie hybrid, that came out with weird colouring? Can that even happen? Anyway, she looks AWESOME!!!!!

How much time do the animals take up for you during the day? And how much 'extra' time do you spend on top of what you absolutely must spend on them in order to keep them alive.

Wow! That is dedication, but I suppose as well if it's your calling I imagine it's not the time you already spend that is the problem; but not having enough time to do everything you want.

You are amazing, you know that?

No, I'm not amazing-- you are! Seriously, I am just a nutter who likes birds too much and who allows herself to be pressured into taking on more than is managable ( ... )

Hey, let me know how good a read The Battle for God is. Your theology reading list sounds pretty good. =) Also, what is this Historical Illuminatus trilogy? I shall have to find it and read it.

I will definitely let you know. I haven’t started it yet, but I am finishing Jesus Freaks this afternoon, and The Battle for God is next in the stack. I'm really looking forward to it.

As a tangent, my brother (who is Muslim, but is just as into comparative religious studies as me) recommends Karen Armstrong's recent book on Islam. My local library is buying it, so I'll be putting that on my reading list as soon as it arrives.

Are you the same Light Goddess that is on Wildspeak? if so, I will friend you back. I am just a bit careful about adding people until I get to know them. You know, the world is a bit nutty lately. ;-) Can't be too careful.

Yeah, I'm the same LG from wildspeak. =) I don't blame you for a minute being careful about adding people. I've been that way for years.

Oops, I forgot: The Historical Illuminatus trilogy is by Robert Anton Wilson. The three books are The Earth Will Shake, The Widow's Son and Nature's God. They all tie into RAW's other books: Masks of the Illuminati (a really, really good book) and The Illuminatus! Trilogy (co-written with Robert Shea).

Here is RAW's home page, check out the bookstore for all his titles. He's brilliant, and his death has put a big hole in "occulture".

If I could suggest some other fascinating books on polytheism you might want to try:

"A World Full of Gods; an Inquiry into Polytheism" by John Michael Greer

"The Deities Are Many; A Polytheistic Theology" by Jordan D. Paper

Another book which I haven't read but which looks interesting is "The New Polytheism" by David Leroy Miller

You knew I'd tempt you with more books didn't you? LOL!
